Name: Piper Adelaide Andrews
Wanted Position: Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher I would also like her to be a known werewolf, if at all possible. If not, I'll tweak her character
Abilities: None
History: For the first few years of her life, Piper grew up not knowing of her magical background. Born to an irresponsible squib and a young American muggle, her parents had no wish to raise a child. They placed her in the care of her mother's muggle parents who became her legal guardians. Hints of her magical abilities appeared through her childhood. Her grandparents, desperate for answers as to why their granddaughter would be able to make things fly about her room, sought out any of her other relatives. They got in contact with her dad's father, an odd aged wizard who helped them enroll her at Hogwarts.
Piper finally found a place where she could flourish. Gryffindor became her second family. She found she excelled at Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms and Flying, though she never got a taste for playing Quidditch. She enjoyed designing her own broomsticks, her wealthy grandfather supporting her.
Sometime during her time as a student at Hogwarts, she was bitten by a werewolf. She refuses to make public the name of the werewolf that bit her and rarely speaks of the matter at all. With the aid of teachers and her fellow students, she was able to finish her education. After school, she sought to do two different things: become a teacher and overturn many unfair pieces of anti-Werewolf legislation. She is in the process of starting her own organization on the side to educate wizards of the hardships suffered by werewolves.
Physical Description: Petite figure, about 5'8" in height. Blue eyes, blond hair.
Other: I also play Dakota Wheeler. ;D

Thank you!! Not a problem! I figured I'd just post the sample here. Sorry about the length! ;D
Also, I changed her physical description. I'm fickle. XD
Heels clicking lightly on the stone floor, Piper made her way to the familiar doorway. A small smile on her lips, she pushed open the door and entered the room. The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. It seemed like only yesterday that Piper herself had been sitting at one of the desks. Many men and women had taught in this classroom, and to Piper's endless elation, it was now her turn.
It was both a major honor as well as a major accomplishment for her to be standing here. It had been a difficult process, getting a teaching job at Hogwarts, her being a werewolf and all. She had plead her case most diligently and had finally won out. She would simply have to schedule her classes carefully, was all. As well as keep her large supply of the Wolfsbane potion well-stocked.
Flicking an errant strand of pale hair out of her blue eyes, Piper surveyed the room. Her eyes climbed the small staircase to the office, and after another small smile, her feet followed suit. The office was perfect. Her belongings were already here, still mostly packed. She would worry about sorting out her office later. For now, she wanted to make sure the classroom was ready for her first lesson.
Trotting back down the staircase, she surveyed her classroom once again. Several desks laid out neatly that could be pushed against the back wall for more active lessons. Tall glass windows with several low bookcases beneath them. And of course, the large dragon skeleton suspended from the ceiling. She grinned at it, wondering if it would fall at any point during her stint as teacher. She hoped not. It couldn't be easy to get the thing back up there.
A tall grandfather clock in her office chimed suddenly, prompting Piper to look at her wristwatch. She hurried over to her desk, a lovely ancient block of wood she had found stuffed in a storage room on the fourth floor. Already on it were her lesson plans, schedule, and half-finished pamphlets she reminded herself to revise in her free time. It was going to be a bit of a struggle, trying to fill both of her major goals, but she was determined to be a great teacher, as well as get her organization for the equality of werewolves rolling.
For now, though, she had to turn her mind to teaching. Pulling a small mirror out of her desk, she inspected her hair, which had gotten somewhat wind tossed on her walk across the grounds this morning. Pulling her blond locks back into order, she glanced at her wristwatch again. The students for her first class would be arriving shortly. She brushed off her dark blue robes and skipped over to the large rolling chalkboard that was set up near her desk. On it, in her small, neat printing, she wrote:
Professor P. A. Andrews Defense Against the Dark Arts
Just as she was finishing the last word, her clock chimed again. The sounds of the students moving about to their next class drifted in from the halls. Piper grinned and seated herself on the corner of her desk and waited for the students to arrive.
She didn't have to wait long as a wave of third year students, her first for the day, began filing in noisily. Piper didn't say anything, just smiled as she watched them drift toward their seats. Most of the kids glanced her way as they walked past, some with shy smiles, others with bright grins. She caught a few frowning at her as they sat down, though they did so when they thought she wasn't looking. Piper was determined not to let it get to her, though. She knew there would be students who had heard about her and would have a predisposition not to trust her. It was going to be part of her struggle, but she was going to see it through.
When the classroom was full, about five minutes after the hour, she cleared her throat and waited for the kids to quiet down. They did so rather quickly, curious to see what she was going to say. Still perched lightly on the corner of her desk, she smiled around the room at them.
“Hello class. I'm Professor Piper Andrews, and this is Defense Against the Dark Arts. As third years, I know you have had this class before. I also know the difficulty of having a new teacher, so I hope you will bear with me as I get settled in. I'm looking forward toward a good year.”
At this point she stood, and walked a few paces toward the windows. As she moved, she heard a few whispers and snickers. She expected this and turned back, an eyebrow raised. The room returned to silence. “I know some of you are aware of this fact, but some of you aren't. I'm going to come right out and say it. I am a werewolf. I was changed when I was just a few years older than you are. The headmaster knows of this fact, and has still hired me. As such, it can be seen that despite my condition, I am qualified for this job and that the headmaster believes I am capable of teaching here at Hogwarts. As such, I ask that you show me the same respect you would show any of the other teachers.”
Piper shot a stern look around the room before smiling again, her warm brown eyes twinkling in the sunlight streaming in through the windows.
“Now then. I'm sure you're used to this by now, as I'm sure you did it in your first class, and you will be doing pretty much the same thing all day. Please take out a scroll and write your name, house, and what you hope to learn from this class. This is an assignment, so I urge you to take it seriously. None of you want to lose any points for your house on the first day.”
She grinned at them, a somewhat sly smile. “While you're doing this, I'll be passing out the syllabus for the year. If you have any questions, please feel free to come up to my desk after you're done. We're going to have a fun year. Now that you're third years, you can handle some of the more.. 'hands on' lessons. I myself prefer these lessons, so I can tell you that you won't be writing a lot of papers in this class.”
That last part got some grins from the students as they reached for their scrolls and pens. Piper swallowed a small sigh of relief and started to pass out the papers she had stacked on her desk. She then returned to her desk as the students began finishing up, placing the scrolls on her desk. A few refused to meet her gaze, but for every one of those students, there was another who grinned at her, excited for the class. It was these kids that made Piper's heart warm and her major fears start to ebb. She hated to admit to herself that she was scared they would all reject her for what she was. These students surprised her, just as her friends had back when she was in school. She couldn't underestimate the character of some of these kids. They saw in her a teacher, not just a werewolf. This was going to be a good year.
