Lucian checked over the contents of his trunk one last time, re-checking what he had just checked two minutes ago. Everything he was taking with him had to be perfect, or else it wouldn't be right. He was spending Christmas vacation with Kaine, and it had barely been a week since that night at the Yule Ball. The last thing he wanted was for Kaine to suddenly decide he didn't like him. That wouldn't be a good thing at all.
The blonde Slytherin quietly closed the top of his trunk and grabbed his jacket, glancing at the watch on his wrist. Time to go now.... where was Kaine? He had barely seen the other all morning, but Kaine had told him to be ready to go at this time, so he was. Now he would just have to wait for the other to show up and tell him what was going on.
The thing that Lucian was most nervous about was meeting Kaine's mother. Meeting her.... it was a little nervewracking, to be honest. He'd never wanted to impress a woman so badly before. But if he could show up and impress this woman, he would be happy for the rest of his life. Please let her like me, please let her like me, please let her like me...
Five minutes later, he glanced at his watch again. What the hell? Kaine was making him wait? Hardly fair...

Kaine had taken his time getting ready. Going home wasn't a really big thing for him, the only difference being was that he got to show Lucian off to his family. The thought brought a smile to the Fire Demon's face as he shrunk down his luggage to a pocket-size and tucked them into his pants. Looking at his watch, Kaine realized he should've already left to go and meet Lucian at the main entrance. He quickly picked up the last of his things and headed up to the first floor.
Of course the first thing Kaine spotted was the familiar blonde head of his roommate. Another smile appeared on his face, one that was now reserved for Lucian only. He was also a bit amused by the obvious tension in the other blonde's posture.
"You ready to go?" Kaine asked as he crossed the floor to where Lucian stood with his bags, his smile lingering as he stopped just in front of him.

Lucian looked up immediately when he noticed that Kaine had entered the room, before shifting his gaze to his trunk, then back to the other again. His fingers slid nervously through his hair, before he looked back at the other and gave him a weak smile.
".... I think so?" he said, tilting his head to the side and watching Kaine for a moment. "I mean.... I think I have everything....... but I'm worried that I forgot something." He rubbed his face lightly, sighing.
"Can you think of anything that I need to bring with me?" he asked Kaine. "Anything that I might have forgotten? I have the gifts for your family in my trunk..... are there any other miscellaneous family members that will be there that I may have forgotten?" It would be horrible if he forgot one person.

Kaine laughed softly, watching Lucian's anxiety was highly entertaining. Though he was almost certain if the Shadow Demon knew that he would probably punch him.
"What? I didn't tell you that my mom's immediately family was going to be there too?" He asked, completely teasing, just wanting to rile the other blonde a bit more.
"Lucian, it's okay. Everything is going to be fine." The Fire Demon's smile was softer now, more reassuring. He wanted to wrap his arms the other boy and pull him close, but he'd been expressly forbidden from any of that while they were at school. So Kaine resisted. "We should go. Murtaugh, Ciaran and the twins are already back home." He motioned slightly with his head and made his way to the door. Once they got outside of Hogwarts he would simply apparate the both of them back to his home.

Lucian gave the other a horrified look when he mentioned the extra family member, then glared when he caught onto the joke. "..... You are not funny," he muttered under his breath at the other, running a hand through his hair slightly. He muttered the shrinking spell as the other kept talking, slipping the now tiny suitcase into his pocket and looking up at the other. He adjusted his jacket and his scarf, making sure they were tucked close around him to conserve as much body heat as possible.
"Aright..." He trailed after the other, looking rather like a lost puppy. An extremely anxious puppy, but a puppy nonetheless. He walked a little faster to get close to the other again, walking a bit closer than was normal for roommates. But the more space between him and Kaine, the more nervous he got. If he could hold the other's hand, he would do it in a heartbeat.... but they were still at school. Though as soon as they had apparated away and had a moment to be alone, Lucian had a week's worth of kisses to catch up on.
"Is there anything I need to know before we get there?" he asked, glancing up at the other. [/blockquote]

"Anything to know?" Kaine made a thoughtful sound as they stepped down the main stairwell outside the castle and made their way off the grounds. Actually, he really should give Lucian a run down of everything that was likely to occur in his household. It didn't seem crazy to Kaine anymore, simply because he lived with them, but to a normal person ... it was going to be interesting.
"Well..." The Fire Demon rubbed the back of his neck. "Just a few warnings I guess." He smiled slightly, glancing at the other blonde. "I don't know how my family will behave with a new person around." Kaine's smile became a bit more amused. "They are mostly harmless but...well, let's see..." The demon paused for another moment, deciding he should start at the top of the list. "Ryanna, she's a bit cold. She doesn't like people at all so if she doesn't talk to you, or pretends like you're not there, that's normal, she likes to pretends we're all not there sometimes." He shrugged. "Malachi is Murtagh's brother, both lycans and they will most likely attack me randomly during the vacation so don't be surprised if two giant beasts suddenly tackle me when we get home." Kaine made a slight face. He was really hoping those two would at least wait until he got Lucian in the house.
"Umm, oh, Ruari is the most sane one in the house, besides mom, if Malachi or Ciaran give you any crap while I'm not around he's your best bet. And speaking of Ciaran, he's a brat and he likes to change things around the house and make you think you're going crazy. Don't worry, you're not." Kaine smiled again. "Liam and Cian are pretty harmless. They're seers who rarely, if ever, tell the truth about the future. They don't like giving up their secrets, so if they tell you anything it's probably 50% truth and 50% complete lie." He shrugged slightly. "Mom is the best, no one in the house will cross her, but she's very sweet and she's going to love you, which pretty much makes you untouchable this vacation. So nothing to worry about there." He grinned, entirely too pleased about this whole thing. This was going to be the best Christmas ever.
"Oh, and of course there's little Anya. If you ever wanted to see 2 angry lycans, 2 pissed off demons and a vampire in a rampage all pacified in the same instant that'd be my family when she walks in the room. I just feel bad for the first guy she ever tries to bring home." The Fire Demon flashed Lucian an evil smirk before coming to a stop. They were outside the school grounds now. He turned and faced the other.
"So, you sure you still want to do this after hearing all that?" He asked, trying not to focus on how adorable the other looked bundled all up against the cold. "There's still time to back out."

Lucian listened quietly while Kaine explained what was going to happen at his house, and he smiled slightly at the other. He glanced back at Hogwarts, as if he was thinking about it, then looked back at the other and grinned. "I think I'll take my chances with your family." He smiled, offering the other his hand so that Kaine could apparate them away from the school. He couldn't wait to get this vacation started and just be able to spend some time with Kaine as his boyfriend instead of his roommate. [/blockquote]

Kaine smiled, watching the other look back at the castle. He reached over and took Lucian's hand, more than willingly, even drawing the other blonde a bit closer. "As if I would've let you leave anyway." The Fire Demon remarked with a playful smirk. "And don't say I didn't warn you." Kaine focused all his attention next on apparating both himself and his boyfriend home. The school background faded and was replaced with something much greener.
A house stood in the center of a large clearing, which was then surrounded by forest on all sides. It had a rustic sort of feel with a large porch that wrapped around the cottage. It was a fair size, larger than your normal every day home, but not overly so. The 10 members of his family certainly would not have fit in any average size home. Besides, with magic, the house was much larger inside than it appeared on the outside. The sun settled in right over the trees, filtering down unhindered by any kind of obstruction, though it was a bit off to the side at the moment.
"And here we are..." A brief look around and Kaine couldn't sense any lingering members of his family, namely Malachi, waiting to attack. He looked back at Lucian and began tugging the other demon up towards his home with a smile. "Let's go." He didn't really seem any different, but the tone of Kaine's voice gave his excitement away.

As the school melted away and Kaine's home materialized into view, Lucian's grip on Kaine's hand tightened. He glanced at the other when he spoke, and smiled as he recognized the tone in Kaine's voice. He walked closer to the other, feeling the steady warmth radiating from Kaine's body, and looked up at the house again as they approached.
The house emanated warmth, not like Kaine did, but love and contentment instead. It was very very different from Lucian's own home, a solemn affair that didn't radiate anything. Not that there wasn't love there, but it was a different kind of love, a subtle one. Kaine's house was much more open about it. Lucian idly wondered how he would have grown up if he had grown up in a house full of people who were open with their love and devotion like this.
The air was crisp here, and it helped relax him. It smelled like home, at least. Though he didn't always miss his family, Lucian did miss Romania, a lot. It amazed him that he could spend endless amounts of time among trees and mountains and cold air, but put him in a room of his family and he felt like he was suffocating only an hour later. He shivered faintly, stepping closer to Kaine.
He sniffed lightly, blinking. The air smelled different as they approached the house, and he glanced at Kaine. ".... Food?" he asked, tilting his head. ".... it smells like beef stew." [/blockquote]

"Mmm, I hope so." Kaine flashed Lucian another smile. "Only good things happen when Ruari is in the kitchen." He took the few steps up onto the porch and no sooner had he done that the front door flew open.
"Kaine!" An overjoyed pale blonde girl stood in the door way beaming. The little Veela launched herself at her older brother and the demon bent slightly, catching her with his free arm and hoisted her up. "You're so late! What were you doing!" She pouted and Kaine could feel the affects of the Veela hit him. Yup, he was home. The only thing worse than a guilt trip was a Veela guilt trip.
"Aww, come on Anya. I came as fast as I could." The Fire Demon did his best to reason with her.
"Nuh uh! Kian told me Lucian was waiting for you! You were late! And Liam said you slept in!" The little girl watched him knowingly. Kaine glared over Anya's shoulder at the twins who appeared in the doorway behind, snickering.
"You two are dead." The Fire Demon remarked in annoyance, glancing back at Anya. "Sorry, I was late. But it wasn't because I was sleeping. You know you can't believe those two." He gave his little sister a charming smile. "Forgive me?" Anya seemed to pause, thinking about it for a moment, before smiling and wrapping her arms around his neck hugging him tightly.
"Okay, I forgive you." She pulled back a moment later and looked over at the Shadow Demon besides her brother, smiling again. "Hi, Lucian." She waved cutely at him.
"All these happy welcome home scenes are killing me today." Kaine glanced over at the voice and saw Malachi standing just behind the twins.
"Hey, don't be jealous no one is excited to see you." He remarked with a smirk.
"Oh yeah? He did." Malachi pointed to Murtagh beside him.
"Uh, no I didn't." Murtagh's response cause his lycan brother to snarl slightly and the rest of the family laughed.
"Alright, alright, let's not bar the doorway here." An older woman's voice cut through the crowd and the twins and Lycan's parted, letting their small adoptive mother through. "Ah, Kaine, you're home." She smiled and walked over him, sharing a brief hug before looking over at the new boy standing beside the Fire Demon.
"And this must be Lucian. I've been hearing a lot about you." The gypsy woman extended her smile to the other blonde. "And every bit as cute too. I'm Moira it's nice to finally meet you." She ushered them inside the house. "Now, come on, it's cold outside and now that Kaine is home it'd be a shame to heat the outside." Anya giggled in Kaine's arms.
"Haha." The Fire Demon rolled his eyes. "Heat jokes, always funny."
The door they'd stepped through led into a very large living room, much larger than one could've ever guessed from the outside. On one of the 3 couches was Ryanna, sitting by the fire, reading a book. She glanced up briefly and acknowledged Kaine before going back to her page.
"You can just hang your coat up over there, Lucian." Moira pointed to hooks with several other jackets hung. "Make yourself at home."

Lucian could only smile shyly at Anya when the Veela girl turned her charms on him, and he wave his hand lightly. He watched the interaction between Kaine and the two lycans, before turning his gaze to the small woman that had approached from behind them. Ah, Kaine's mother. He smiled, though a bit nervous, and blushed when she called him cute.
"Ah, it's nice to meet you too," he managed to get out, before the woman was ushering them all inside. His head was starting to spin in circles. He was never going to remember names or who did what and when. When Moira pointed to a place for him to hang his coat, he thanked her quietly, and began undoing the buttons on his coat. He carefully hung his jacket and scarf up, before turning back to the small crowd that had gathered, glancing between Kaine and Moira.
"Um... is there anywhere specific I should put my things?" he asked, offering a faint smile to them both. [/blockquote]

Kaine only released Lucian's hand when the other went over to hang his coat up, watching the other blonde with a smile.
"Hey, hey! You're finally back." Ciaran came into the living room after being shoved by Ruari out of the kitchen.
"And stay out, annoying rat." The telekinetic sighed and looked over at Kaine. "Hey, welcome home, Kay. Hi, Lucian, I'm Ruari. I'll introduce myself better in a bit." He smiled and disappeared back into the kitchen. Kaine just shook his head.
"Glad to see at least someone in the house has manners." Moira remarked, glancing at everyone else.
"Hey, I don't need to introduce myself. We go to school together." Ciaran remarked, walking over to the couch and flopping down.
"I'm Anya!" The little Veela said happily.
"We're Liam" "and Cian" The twins voiced in their typical unison. "Saw you at" "the dance but we" "didn't get the chance to say hi" "of course everyone was pretty busy last week." The two seers had that knowing look, but of course, that was typical took.
"I'm Murtagh. I'm at Hogwarts too, but I don't think we've met yet." The younger lycan offered a hand to Lucian. "That's Malachi." He indicated over his shoulder to the other lycan.
"He sounds so enthused when he says that doesn't he?" Malachi remarked, hitting the back of Murtagh's head before looking at Lucian again. "Are you really here because of Kaine? How can you stand being around that guy? He's an ass." The the eldest boy smirked at his younger demon brother.
"Hey, I take offense to that you flea-ridden mutt." Kaine countered with a glare. Malachi snarled.
"Don't start you two. He just got home Malachi. Wait an hour before you start trying to tear him apart." The vampire on the couch remarked with a bored tone. "I'm Ryanna by the way." She nodded at Lucian. Moira, who stood off to the side simply seemed amuse.
"Lucian, you can go upstairs and put your things in Kaine's room." The older woman didn't doubt the overwhelming nature of her family. The new boy probably wanted to take a breather. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Kaine's expression turn a bit devious when she told Lucian he could go up to his room. "Don't look so pleased. You can bring your things to Anya's room, because that's where you're staying." She stated with a smug smile of her own when Kaine's expression turned sour.
"What?! Why?!" The fire demon was indignant.
"You know exactly why." She eyed him. "Now go." She pointed up the stairs. "Show him the house." Kaine made a slight face and looked at Lucian. He placed Anya down on the floor again.
"Fine fine..." He held a hand out to Lucian again.

Lucian nodded to each person as they introduced themselves, his eyes finally landing on Moira again. He blinked when she said Kaine was sleeping in Anya's room, and he glanced at the other, arching a brow. Maybe there was some kind of rule...? Either way, Lucian was grateful for the chance to escape and catch his wind. He took Kaine's hand when the other offered it, and followed him through the house towards the other's room.
When they were more or less alone in the halls on their way to Kaine's room, Lucian rubbed his forehead slightly. ".... I knew your family was big... but.... I though they'd be smaller?" he said, smiling weakly. "They've all got... strong personalities, if that makes sense..." He moved closer to the other as they moved down the hall. [/blockquote]

Kaine glanced at Lucian as they reached the top of the stairs and headed down the hall. He laughed slightly. "Yes they do." The other demon agreed. "And what do you mean smaller? Kids like Anya?" He wondered passing a few more doors until he reached the second to last one in the hallway.
"Oh, and, uh, ignore all the stuff in my room, like on the walls. I need to take most of it down anyway." He shifted his eyes slightly as he turned the knob of his door and pushed it open. Inside the room were most of the normal things a bed, bureau, a desk with a computer off in one corner. It was clean, mainly because Moira had probably cleaned after he'd left for the semester. The floor was covered in a dark blue carpet and the walls were a cream. Not that you could really see the walls. Other than the bed, bureau and desk, the normalcy really just ended. Pictures, articles, swords, charms, and other various trinkets were all over his walls. Most of the pictures and articles were covered in Kaine's own handwriting.
The Fire Demon left the door open for Lucian to come in and he went to the closet, pulling out a chest. Swinging the heavy lid open after muttering the password, Kaine began pulling things off his walls, mainly weapons and other things that made him look rather insane.
"You can just put your things wherever." He glanced at Lucian with a half smile.

Lucian shook his head, smiling softly. "No. Smaller personalities, I guess." He shrugged, before stepping into Kaine's room and looking around. A small amused smile appeared on his face as Kaine began taking things off of the wall, and he ended up watching the other curiously.
"Why are you taking that stuff down?" he asked, tilting his head slightly to one side. "You don't have to take it down on account of me, you know..." Lucian decided he'd had enough of this whole 'space between them' thing, and he reached forward as Kaine dropped a few more things into his trunk, grabbing the other's wrist and tugging him towards him.
"Hey..... pay a little attention to me...." he said, tilting his head towards the other and smiling. "Your room decorations can wait.... use them as an excuse to sneak in here later tonight..." Another light tug on the other's wrist, beckoning him closer. [/blockquote]
