It was past hours as Avian trudged through the corridors of Hogwarts. She was on patrol looking for any signs of students being out past curfew. Once of twice she thought she saw someone but later assumed it was her mind playing tricks on her. It was very peaceful though, there wasn't a sound other than Avian's footsteps. She liked it that way. She rather enjoyed being by herself, gave her the opportunity to think about her day, her life, even her future. Many of her peers tell her she tends to over analyze things but she always countered back by saying she's rather be safe then sorry. Every step the blonde took seemed to echo in the deserted corridor.
Soon Avian found herself very close to the Astronomy Tower, one of her favorite places here at Hogwarts aside from the library. She wondered if it would be inappropriate for her to go up to the tower. Her instincts would of rejected the idea but her mind already had plans to take a stroll up there. A smile played on her lips as she ascended the stairs, as odd as it sounded she was excited. It had been so long since she had last been up here or even took some time to relax. The Ravenclaw had been studying so much and busy with prefect duties that she barely had time for herself.
Reaching the top, Avian took a huge breath and sighed. She felt so content up here, possibly free from any restraints or jobs she had to do. It was just her and the spectacular view of the grounds. her mouth fell slightly ajar as she gazed out at the brilliant scene. There was darkness everywhere. Covering every inch of the black lake, the forbidden forest, and even Hogsmeade. The sky was completely clear, not a cloud in sight. There was stars of every size imaginable scattered everywhere. Maybe about a million..billion..or even more then than. Avian missed coming up here on these kinds of nights and just gazing up at the stars.
Walking up closer to the railing where she could get an even better view, Avian reached up at the sky as if trying to reach the stars. Why does something so beautiful have to be out of reach. If one could reach out to the sky and pluck a star right out of the sky, then you'd be able to share such wondrous things with everyone. Family members, loved ones...significant others. Avian felt her heart sink a few levels. She had always wished to find that one guy. That one that she would feel so happy with and so at peace. But with her gift, which she would rather call curse, all she would end up with was a selfish arrogant pig looking to have a good time with a pretty face. Was that all she was? Just a pretty face with nothing more underneath that?
Her mouth twisted into a scowl. Was it really that possible to have such rotten luck with men? In Avian's case, it kinda was. She was never satisfied with any guy she met, it was like a never ending love game that Avian just so happens to press the reject button to every guy she comes across. She leaned onto the railing with her chin resting on her palms supporting her head. Why is it that she can never meet her prince charming. Her lucky star. The Ravenclaw looked back up at the sky, eyes transfixed with the scenery. Why can't she find her star. It was as if he was unattainable. Her unattainable star.
