ooc: Woot, another contest! I am excited to RP!
A new year, a new start. Right? Well Annabelle had her own thoughts about that, being as she spent most of the summer at the school playing catch up. She was not dumb, but had a very short attention span. She had enjoyed her time too, summer classes where not as hard, and seemed to be quicker. It was also nice to keep busy, she did not have time to think about her mother, it had been just over a year now since she died. Her father was working hard with the ministry, she was sad that they did not spend as much time together as they had in the past. The days of running in their horse form had long gone with the move from Mass.
However she had adapted well, and even started to understand some of the British slang, and dare say it even start to have the accent. While it was obvious that she was not full Brittan she was fitting in rather well. First day back and she could not be less excited, not about classes, she was actually excited about them this year. It was those dreaded uniforms! As she had spent a week at home with her father after she finished up her summer classes she returned like she never had left.
Pink hair tied back in a loose pony, she had yellow pants on and a black sweater, with a chunky belt. Some bracelets, and dangly earrings she would have to make do this year with accessorizing. That was why she spent most of her time making jewelry this summer instead of making new clothes. Not having all that much money meant making your own thing was common practice to her, and nothing better then your own work. The only downside, she often looked for the tags in them!
A sigh escaped her lips seeing the entrance hall crowded with new students, and many returning faces. She knew that she had to make more connections, because she had no close friends, and even few long lasting relationships. George from Potions did not count, as it lasted about two weeks… So Annabelle darted her eyes around for anyone to spark a conversation, and it was a few moments when she say someone walk in the door, a trunk next to them. “Nothing better then starting off with a helping hand.” She said with a smile and rushed over, with a happy skip, not wanting to be too over excited.
“Need a hand?” she said to the person at the door, regardless of their house, age, or history Annabelle somehow made it up to her to great this person. With some luck she would get a good response.

Janet had taken a weekend trip back home for the first time, in, well, years. She had figured that one weekend would be enough time before getting back into the swing of things. She had taken up no classes in summer, but did remain in the school, so her trunk was only a weekend one, small and with a few trinkets her parents would not let her leave with out. The strange and uneasy time was far easier then she had expected. Her muggle family had a lot going on in their life. Her Aunt apparently was getting married, Janet had forgotten that her mother even had a sister.
Things where the same at Hogwarts as she looked at the people all around as she and many others often did when arriving at the school. She was about to move forward when someone, who was a tad to egger wanted to give her a hand.
Oh, my god, I can’t believe I come back to this? What next Hogwarts will actually have greeters?’ Janet thought, she smiled however a small polite smile. “No, I am fine thank you.” Janet said to the girl, hoping that would be it, however she knew that tromping off to the common room was not really all that fun either. After all the sappy times with her parents over the holiday she was willing to take a little upbeat time.
“It’s not all that much, I just went on a weekend holiday, myself.” Janet reaffirmed. She took in the girl that stood there, young, bright, and above all perky. She was what looked like a muggle born, by the way she was dressed it seemed into her own style. Janet had the regular, blue jeans and navy top on, however her parents had given her a lighter purple scarf that she had on. Her trunk had more items that were like that.
Perhaps she is also a meta?’ Janet thought seeing the pink hair, a strange choice, but then again, everyone at Hogwarts tred to stand out, well almost everyone. Janet wanted to stay behind, and hidden. Then again that too was incorrect as she wanted to make a name for herself in quidditch. I guess it is not all that different after all. she thought as she stepped out of the door way.
“I am Janet by the way, and you are?” she asked trying her best to be social and learn more about someone. She had to keep her mind concentrated on not making up reasons to hate someone.

Annabelle had had her fair share of people who would rather avoid her at all costs then speak to her so Janet was tame in her mind. She smiled however the same, and was happy that the no thank you came with an added explanation. “Well that must have been nice to get out for a bit, I have been here all summer, it is nice out side of here?” she giggled not sure if she would understand her humor, as if she was stuck in the school and was not free to see other sections of the world. However she too had spend a day or two at home with her father, however still wanted to venture further out into London and learn more about he land she was living in.
“Love your scarf, by the way.” She said with a smile, Annabelle was planning on learning to knit or something to make such tings. She was really getting into scarves lately. “Oh, sorry, I am Annabelle.” She said when Janet introduced herself. She liked the name, strong and simple, she was sure that, Like herself, Janet had times where she did not like the name, and complementing someone on their name was kind of fruitless for they had no choice in the matter.
“Well they are going to be serving in a bit, a little bite to eat if you want to join me? I heard that there would be sandwiches for the returning sandwiches before the feast tomorrow. Have you been to a feast? This would be my first one.” Annabelle was running her words again, stringing together ideas that where not completely connected but had a very loose connection. She was aiming for how the feast would go, what sort of stuff happened there, and above all what type of food.
She was still smiling, and still in the way as well. “Oh, sorry.” She said seeing Janet wanting to move from the door, and who would blame here. It was a bit of a chill today and well, standing in doorways was a bit odd as well. It was not really meant to be a stationary place, rather a constant movement.
ooc: BTW, anyone is still welcome to join in!

Janet really did not have all that much of a desire to keep up a conversation, she had figured a nice hello, and name exchange would be enough, however she had been incorrect. The girl went on about her summer at the school, with such few people at the school during the summer months she was surprised not to have seen her. Then again Janet avoided confrontation, the entrance hall was one place that often snuck its way up on her.
She knew that she should have used the passageway near the slytherin common rooms to get in, avoiding these types of conversations. However she had brought this on herself using the main entrance. “Yes it was nice to visit my parents again.” She said not explaining that it was the first time in many years that this had happened, rather giving the impression that it had only been a school term was more acceptable to her.
“Thank you.” She said in a slightly softer tone, she hated getting complements, as they never fit her, nor did they do anything good to help her self esteem. “My mother gave it to me on holiday.” She said not really wanting to continue the conversation about scarves or anything else for that matter. She had letters she had to read in her trunk, one from Hogwarts that she was hesitant to read. For her last year at the school would be long expected and long overdue.
Janet had to admit she was a bit famished, having ate little with her family, not wanting to take advantage of the situation, and also she felt more like guest then family there she did not eat all that much. A light sandwich would do good for her, but at what cost she was not too certain. However listing and realizing what was then asked of her did slightly confuse her, of course they would serve food today, and before the feast tomorrow. Perhaps she is trying to get to a point? Janet thought to herself, a slight roll of the eyes.
“I have been to three, my first three years at the school. All others I have missed, it will be nice to enjoy my last one this year.” She said honestly. The years in between three and now where long, and a part of her life she rather not return to. Her fourth year she was recruited to be an assassin, fifth she left to hunt full time, sixth she returned to find her brother killed and in return nearly died herself, landing herself in the hospital for about 6 months, her would be seventh year, acting sixth year she had been diagnosed with split personality disorder and locked in Mungos for treatment, and now a summer past she was a new woman, and ready to finish school.
“Sandwiches would be nice.” She added making the turn toward the great hall. A bite to eat would be nice, she just hoped it would not be full of questions and bubbly annoyances.

Anna was happy that she was finding a friend, or at least what she thought could be a good friend, and even better she was an upperclassmen, that meant she could give her some pointers too. Janet seemed nice, even though she was a bit on guard, Anna could sense the desire to run away, however she got that from a lot of people that she met.
“Really, how come you did not go to any others?” she asked and thought about the question and how inappropriate it really was. Clearly students who forwent the feast had a reason, some good but most where not all hat great. Then again she did say that she was looking forward to it, Anna assumed it was a string of late entrees or something simple like that. She quickly diverted the question.
“I heard it is packed, even more then usual, and all the staff are there, plus the sorting hat too. Do they make the tables bigger? Do you remember what sorts of foods they prepare?” she had asked a bunch of questions now, sure enough she would scare her away now. It was then that she had realized that Janet had agreed to sandwiches, and that was good, but also figured that she may change her mind, after the bombardment of her crazy questions.
“Great, we can talk on the way over. “ she said, not that it was all that far of a distance to the great hall from the entrance hall. “I think it is nice that they have food ready most of the time, I am always hungry, and surprised I have not gained a ton of weight here. After all there is no meal plans, they just offer up the food. Strange, but I suppose it is in the tuition right?” She said not even sure how much it costs, but looking at the place she was sure it was a lot, and why her father was working late every day.

When Anna had asked her about her reasoning for not going to the other feasts, mentioning her running out to hunt for a year, then being in a coma for another year, did not seem to be the conversation she wanted to start. Not to mention if she went on to say that she was two years older hen most of her seventh year counterparts it all seemed rather sad and disturbing at the same time. However a little luck would have it she continued to talk.
Those questions where of past experiences, however she could answer them much better then the first question. “Well most of the school is present a the feast, few are not there. Some late arrivals miss it, which I assume you where last year?” she asked not really looking for the answer. “As for food they had a rather large selection, it seemed that each table at a little of something, and different things. Some share but others don’t.” She said remembering her first year when a seventh year Slytherin paralyzed a first year for trying to take a chocolate roll from the end of the table.
It was enough to show her that she had to wise up, and do so quickly. They began to walk to the sandwiches and Anna seemed overly excited to have a conversation, was there no one in her house around? she thought not sure if her stomach hunger was enough to withstand much more of this eager questioning child, yes she was a child more then she was.
The Hall had one table with sandwiches that looked to auto fill up; Janet went for a turkey sandwich with sharp cheddar on it. She took some mayo, which was on the side and put some on. “Okay, well once classes start few have time to be spending getting food.” Janet said, never even thinking about that factor, for she had only came for meals after the main meal times, often sneaking into the kitchen itself to make her own food, she did not trust those creatures to prepare her food. It was going to be hard to stomach the feast, even the sandwich as she looked at it.
No one had died from the food, and the elves where less likely to position someone then ever with things in the news and the deaths. Fear was a strange feeling that she had unjustly felt at the moment she took a bite of the sandwich, her stomach happy but her brain worried.

Anna listened with a great deal of struggle, her mind wondering on about the feast and the events that would happen, she imagined it to be like a pep rally, with loud cheering and crazy acts of school pride. However the few things she caught from Janet was not quite what her vision showed. She was wise to ask, because she did not want anything bad to happen either, some students where less then friendly toward new comers, even if she had been there for nearly a year.
“Great.” She said not really listening at all to her as she took two sandwiches, egg salad, and it looked like ham and cheese, she loaded the second up with condiments, the first with salt and pepper. Then took a bag of sun chips that where hidden amongst a bunch of other brands she did not know that well. She took a seat, and watched Janet eat her sandwich rather cautiously, while Anna ate hers, a little too fast, but it still was good, and was on her second in no time.
“Well then, it sounds so cool, I can’ wait.” She said sounding so much like the child she was, the best part was that there was going to be so many people there, a great time to meet others and make some good friends while there.

After a few, not really bites, nibbles of her sandwich, and the constant chiming of someone talking to her, Janet decided she was going to open her letter from the school. Perhaps it was telling her leave and don’t look back, after all she was too old and too crazy to be safely part of the school. So with out saying anything other then a mumble of agreement she took it out of her bag and took a breath before opening it.
The Hogwarts seal, it was an official document for sure, where her records no longer sealed? However her eyes widened as she scrolled the page. ’The school must have gone mad.’ she thought reading the message that congratulated her on this years Quidditch Captain seat. With instructions of when and how to conduct her tryouts, as well as select a assistant to aid in the selection process. It also listed the other teams selected captains, with a suggestion of meeting them.
“Hu.” Her sound was not really meant to be outwardly exposed. She had forgotten about Annabelle sitting there, as well as her food for that matter and stood up from the seat to start to her common room, when she realized her manner she stopped.
“Oh, sorry, I need to go… I think someone made a mistake, that I need to get cleared up.” She said not believing it herself. She had assisted Dove prior to their disastrous ending of terms. So her position was not entirely out of the blue, however she had to believe someone else was far more deserving of it. ..
“I will see you around then, okay?” she said looking up at the pink haired girl that she was speaking with about nothing at all of any importance. She did not wait for an answer as she wondered away with her things, leaving her food on the table. She was not paying much attention to her forward motion, rather reading the letter again. She made it up the first set of stairs and around the corner before running into someone.
“Oh, sorry.” She said, never being one to apologize all that often, to her it sounded forced and unreal.
ooc:(Okay, still open to new comers! Because I am looking to RP with someone new (other then myself!) lol )
