It's that time again.... SUGGESTION TIME!

Yep, you heard right. I've got some ideas I wanna toss around with you guys and I need some more! So it's time for another suggestion thread (though you guys do know if you ever have suggestions you can make your own thread or PM me, right?).

Anyway! Here are some of the ideas:

1. Another Advertisement Contest.

Let's admit it, while activity has been much better recently... we could still use some more members. It's always nice to have new faces, new plot opportunities, etc. Plus I'm tired of seeing empty boards on the site ;-; I'd let you guys suggest what you wanted in thanks for the contest too this time.

2. Another Roleplay Contest.

Again, I'd let you guys suggest the prizes. I'd want it to be themed. Maybe revolve around an end of term dance or include a certain obscure phrase you need to put into your post or an activity of some sort?

3. Graphics Contest.

I think we could use a new layout again, but my photoshop isn't working (and even though I go home soon and can remedy that issue I thought, hey, let's make it something fun for the site!) so I thought I'd open it up to you guys to make a new header image and new and old icons (and if you wanted sidebar header images too) and everyone on the site could vote for their favorite and whoever wins... well for one thing your layout gets to be the site layout for a while and um, you guys can suggest other prizes if you want em?

4. Site Expansion.

This is the thing I thought of that I was the least unsure about. I really didn't know how you guys would feel about this at all... I once had a site that included Beauxbatons and Durmstrang areas on it too and I was sort of thinking of doing that again on this site. I know we don't have many people as it is and all, but I thought maybe it would bring around new opportunities for plots and such and maybe being all inclusive would interest potential new members more? I dunno. -shrugs-

5. Summer Quidditch World Cup.

I also thought maybe if we had enough people interested, we could set up a World Cup match in the quidditch stadium and get some rpers to create new (temporary, like NPC) people to play as opposing teams in the cup and then people could rp going to watch the game, etc.

As always I'm open to other suggestions! I really really really want to do somethinggggg. Oh! Anddd the 5th birthday of the site is coming up this July! We should do something for that too -nods- Any and all suggestions welcome! Please suggest! >.>;; PLEASE!

I love all these suggestions, they are great! (I am too a bit hesitant on #4, only because I have seen the "larger" area sites really lose interest. I don't know why either they are rather cool.)

• How about some sort of tournament, like a new thing, not the tri(or Quad) wizard tournament but something new? That might be fun to try. Maybe something with teams to get more people involved, but single's are cool to because they will get there "groups" too.
  

Side note: I really want to play quidditch! So anyone or anyhow I am totaly game for it. I honestly have been waiting for years to do a game, lol.

I really want to play Quidditch too! I've only ever played in one game and it was so brief I got like 2 posts in ;-; maybe 3. Also, I love this tournament idea. If you want to come up with some ideas for what it could be about or something I'll work with you on setting one up? Or I can do it all too, I'm cool with that, just offering if you want some part in it since it was your idea.

Okay, I will send you a message with two ideas (though I think they are really close together, and I don't know how they will work either, but sure would be fun to do.

Two tournament ideas:

#1 - House champions

Each house will compete as a separate group.
Step 1: 10 students (from each house) will be selected after a written test
Step 2: Flying course for magical handling: 6 students selected from ten
Step 3: Students pair up for a wizard duel! 3 remaining from each house
Step 4: Final challenge: Each receive a different clue, and can use one item (based on the clue) in the task. NO WANDS! In a large maze students will have to retrieve a wand and send out a signal... sounds simple.....

The four students that successfully win (one from each house) will receive a trophy, as well as Fame and Glory. However if that was not enough the students will be able to select one professor to drop into the lake! (Lol I know silly but I am bad at prizes)

SO: This tournament will involve a huge number of players and not just students we would need professors, ministry officials and others too.

#2 - House Play-offs

Lets get ready! Get set and go, as we make house rivalry a bit more of a competition. Students 16 and older can enter their names to be randomly selected to compete. One student from each house will be selected, and one alternative in the case that the first pick is unable or unwilling.

Step 1: Selection finished and the students picked: Three challenges

Step 2: Challenge one:
The house choice and their alternative will work together. Wizard duels (The alternative will act as “seconds” in the case of injury)

Hufflepuff V. Gryffindor
Slytherin V. Ravenclaw
Hufflepuff V. Ravenclaw
Slytherin V Gryffindor
Hufflepuff V Slytherin
Ravenclaw V Gryffindor

Challenge Two:
Magic is a dance. No not a literal dance, but it takes a certain grace. Thus this will challenge the skill of each contestant.

Challenge Three:
Hogwarts founders. This challenge will require students to find an item from their house founder within Hogwarts itself. They will be given a series of three clues. Each will come with a challenge to get. Then once all have located their Items (in a time limit) they are to return to the great hall to demonstrate their items usage.



I figure that we could also mix challegees if we like one over another (Example: I like #2 play-offs but change the third challenge to the one listed in #1; Step 4)

You know I love the idea of a graphic contest! We should start that ASAP!

I do like the idea of site expansion for more character and plot options... but then the site might have wayy too many boards. Maybe if we can acquire a lot of new members we could try it?

And it's the sites 5th birthday coming up? That's intense! We should make hmsowaw5 to go with the trend of a new site every year. Hahah.

OMG NO! No hmsowaw5! And besides they didn't make a new one every year, some didn't last a year >.>;; This one has been around more than a year now -nods- Besides, it's awesomesauce and win, why would a new one be needed? Pssh.

Mm, yeah I think that'd be good to wait and see if we acquire more members. Otherwise we'll have lots of sad, lonely little boards... poor boards ;-;

And um since no one else has posted here opposed to the idea, ok. I'll start the graphics contest later today!

Hmmm...My characters don't do well with games (mainly because my action writing sucks). I was thinking like a huge field trip to a foreign country. I'd have to think of the details, but that'd be fun.

Hm, a field trip could be fun, you should definitely think that up and let me know the details and such. It could be another rp contest type thing too maybe o.O I like rp contests, I dunno >.>;; -shrugs-

I love RP contests, so if we have one people better RP with me! lol!!!

How about a character contest? Like create a bio of 500 words (or something ) and everyone can vote on their favorite character for the month or something? (Vague I know)

I definitely want to bring back Character of the Month and Couple of the Month, stuff like that. We kinda need more members though I feel because we don't have many options right now and no one ever votes or even nominates or like one person gets nominated. Not helpful. >.<;;
