"The sky is beautiful, just like you..." he observed, sapphire eyes glinting in the night.

Her response was a giggle, followed by a delightful, "Thank you... thank you... yess," she was being supported by the large, sit-in window. There was a thrill knowing she could fall at any moment, having his strong arms there to protect her.

The girl was clad in all white; a silk night-gown adorned with lace, barely reaching mid-thigh. Her straps were askew, revealing bits of creamy skin that delighted the vampire. "Do you know what else is beautiful?" he asked, breathing heavy as his body slammed again and again into the petite girl.

Her cheeks were flushed, and she looked at him dreamily, "What else?" her voice was airy, lost in the moment, the sensation.

"Blood," his answer was a blunt hiss, he kissed her all over, letting aching fangs extend gloriously.

"Blood? What are you talking about?" she asked, nearly snapping out of her fantasy... The one where her prince was perfection, taking her on a starry night, with darkness all around.

Their voices mingled, echoes of them reaching that glorious edge - there were screams, cries, and most importantly blood. "Mmm, that's what I'm talking about," his voice was a low mumble, a desperate groan as the sustenance was swallowed, over and over until the girl became quiet; too weak to scream.

She stared at him, shocked stunned. He pulled away, fixed her nightgown and her hair. He kissed her face all over, he nuzzled her sweetly. "You're not going to remember any of this sweetie, it's okay..." he hushed her newfound sobs, patting her back, holding her tight after every article returned to it's proper placement.

His wand emerged from his pocket, and Damien whispered many spells, causing her to completely forget, for her to no longer have any marks or stains. Ah, the beauty of magic. "It's past curfew, I think..." he said to the girl, watching as her eyes grew wide with embarrassment at her being out in her nightgown...

Running into Professor Wilde of all Professor's... The sexiest. She stuttered. "I'm so sorry professor, I'll get to my room immediately," and with that she walked off.

Last time he'd stopped her. It was a repeat performance of what had happened when he'd first spotted her. He could have taken from her again, but he chose not to. His interest didn't peak at the thought. Damien had, originally just been doing his job... But how could he deny a delicious night snack? How could he deny a young girl, so porcelain, so innocently flushed? She was delectable, and he was never one to let a good thing pass him by.

Damien looked at the empty room, then returned to sit in the window sill, gazing out at the star lit night. He rested his head on stone wall, and wondered what to do next...

It was not unusual for the Astronomy professor to be up at night, nor was it unusual that she was wondering around the corridors and checking to see if someone was out of bed, or casing trouble. So when she was returning to her favorite place she heard soft words, nothing audible before a young girl emerged from her tower in a nightgown heading for a dorm.

Juniper was like many of the young professors, a little daring, and a little different. Then again even many of the professors thought she was more then a little strange. However Juniper was quite fine with that, and didn’t bother with all that hogwash anyway. She liked what she taught, and even more liked to be happy.

She let the girl go without any words because she had assumed someone was in the tower still. She doubted that the girl was up there alone, few ventured there alone, some liked to play pranks, yes, but it was also quite a solitude place…

She was wearing some black jeans, and a draped neck long sleeve blouse in purple. Her school robes were open and moving with her walk, what could she say if made her feel nice, and free too. She had recently changed her hair again, combining a few potions to give her a very nice fiery red locks, instead of the blonde with green and blue streaks in it. She was unique, yes, but she was quite smart too.

She had been spending more nights at home in her lab, working on some of the dark arts items she had collected, mastering their secrets and unlocking the mysteries they held was quite a fascination she secretly had. It was only just that she find a very interesting professor sitting on the ledge in her astronomy tower, at least she liked to think it was hers for now anyway.

A airy type of question came from the woman, having not met him, but taking it upon herself to know who works at Hogwarts she smiled softly, “Professor Wilde, what is it that brings you?” she questioned not really sure what had just happened, only that a student had been in there with him, in her night gown, but she did not connect dots in the same way others could.

She took off her school robe and hung it on a chair looking about the tower she smiled, she did love her field, the stars spoke to her in ways others did not seem to understand.

Damien's eyes focused on the ground, taking in what he could of the large castle. He observed the way everything was perfectly lit by the moon; casting a gloomy glow over the entire area. Sometimes - at moments like these - he wondered if it was all worth it. If the person he'd become was who he was meant to be, or if he were simply a shell; hollowed by circumstance and no longer what he could have been.

The vampire did enjoy every moment of his torture on human kind, he did... But was sacrificing the one thing he'd always wanted in life worth it? For, he couldn't love someone if he kept doing what he did to so many. It was a fine line, where he teetered and questioned what it was he wanted out of this eternal life. Typically, the bad ass wins out. For it is easier. For it is his nature. For it... It doesn't involve getting hurt.

Lost in thought, even with enhanced hearing, he nearly missed her. His head turned from the night sky, meeting the eyes of a professor. He noted, though, how young she looked. Damien could have mistaken her for a student had he not paid attention to the panel of staff running the school.

Damien observed the way she hung her robe on the chair, watching the garment peel off of her. His vivid blue eyes took her in; fiery red hair intriguing him. His smile was meant to be a smirk - but it was just that - a smile. Weak, distasteful... And yet, human. How believable he could be.

His pathetic smirk became a response to her words, in which he also replied, "Ah, the usual... Rounding up students. It's not very often you see students running around in... near undergarments. I doubt that is included in the Hogwart's dress code..." His voice trailed off as he watched the professor. Damien pulled his legs up, allowing room in the large window sill if she so chose to sit. There would be plenty of breathing room between the pair.

"I've just finished my rounds in the school. What are you doing up so late?" he asked, slightly mocking - joking with her. It really wasn't that late, but well past the typical curfew.

"And we... Haven't officially met, have we? Damien Wilde," he said, with his hand outstretched, "though, you already know that," he smiled, he smirked; a seductive combination, hinting at such possibilities - both good and evil.

Juniper was indeed smart, but she had such a persona that made people think she was dumb. In fact many students were learning that getting away with things was not as easy as they had first thought, but she also let many things slide, after all it was not that long ago she was also a student herself, in Salem, a world away. At times she did miss it there, but the events and circumstances around London, and Hogwarts kept her here, she did love it.

Damien, was a smooth looker, and she had observed his persona on occasion, she liked to watch some of the other professors teach, in order to get a prospective on her students too, but to enhance her own teachings. Her class had a bit of a lame connotation to it. Star charts where not that engrossing as spells and potions, she understood that.

His smile was refreshing, It was indeed a pleasure to find him here, she wished more professors would visit the stars, and her for that matter. Juniper was secretly a bit lonely, but no one would have ever known that, but we all have our secrets. “Ah, perhaps that come with living at a school, many start to fall under the idea that it’s their home, perhaps it is for many.” She smiled back, taking the open seat next to him, Juniper looked out to the sky, it was lovely.

She had a sigh, and airy and dreamy like appearance and her voice matched, “It is the affliction that comes with teaching astronomy, I rarely sleep while the stars are seen.” She said turning to face the man, his features enhanced but the glow of the moon, it was a strange eerie way that she found was lovely. “Perhaps not, I am Juniper Primrose, it is quite nice to officially meet you Damien Wilde.” She said a soft hand extended not in the formal way, but perhaps a flirty or fun way to shake his hand, but that was the way Juniper was, different but still human.

“My students do find it a taunting test to sneak out at night, but they do still make the attempt. Can’t blame them really, the school is like another place when the lights are down, and the sky is bright.” She said having been a slight rebel in a way as a girl, always out to learn or find something new, and it paid off she was only in her twenties and had already succeed in advancing this far.

Curious as she was she did not ask many questions, she was the type of person that let you open up ,it was better to understand someone without pushing it from them. So many found holding a conversation was difficult, but it also could be rewarding, at least how Juniper saw it that is.

"I suppose, you are right. I personally don't care what the students wear - though I do fear for some of their... Safety if they weren't properly dressed. It certainly doesn't help to tempt the perverts," with that he raised his eyebrows, there was something somber about his attitude - though there was also this spark as he spoke. It was unmistakable in his priceless eyes. What this lovely professor didn't know, for she had not witnessed, he was one of those perverts. His intentions had been completely innocent; he was doing his job. But, my my, how silky night gowns do tempt.

Those gorgeous eyes of his followed her, watching as she settled beside him. Her face was finally in view, the moonlight casting a cool glow on her warm hair. "Oh yes, you are the astronomy teacher... Makes sense meeting you here," he inserted a charming smile, assessing the way she gazed out at the night. He could see her love for the scene. He let his eyes slip past her, taking in the night once more.

Damien's gaze penetrated hers as she spoke. There was something hauntingly beautiful about him; there was something about him you couldn't put your finger on. "It's gorgeous, isn't it?" he asked her, with the star adorned sky being exceptional on the cool night. He captured her hand, stealing the flirty gesture and bringing it to his lips. It was chaste and respectful, a greeting when he kissed her hand. The only thing seductive was inevitable; his bedroom eyes were forever present. He looked up at her through thick lashes, and pulled away with a simple smile.

Being so, well, old... He usually didn't keep up with modern standards.

"Pleasure to formally meet you Juniper," he said her name as if it were the most delectable word in the world. He was a sickening flirt; though he didn't do anything over the top. He liked to make every lady feel special, no matter what his true intentions were. "Ah, I do not blame them... I love the night, I couldn't imagine being, essentially... banned from it," he studied her again for a mere moment, leaning closer, whispering to be dramatic. "But shh, don't tell anyone that I dislike the curfew. I might get fired," his voice turned to normal nearing the end of his sentence, and he pulled back, leaning against the solid wall.

Juniper did not like to think ill of people, but she was not naive to those things either. She had been at that dance, where now it was simply that dance where people got attacked, and people thought less of it then they possibly should. “Yes, safety is of the utmost importance.” She said unsure of they way he spoke, she did not read to deep, she had changed a little since taking on the position of head of house, maybe she questioned people more then she realized. “It is so important that they learn to understand safety it not so simply given either.” She said, knowing that no place was really safe, in Hogwarts itself she had found its share of dark people or things, but she did not live in a fairytale.

“It is a rare night not to find me here, unless I take to the sky itself, a midnight broom ride does wonders for the mind.” She said, not oblivious to his face, his movement or actions, but Juniper was like a girl in her own world. In a way she simply did not see that side of life, all she ever did was learn work and teach, who has time for friendship, or companionship. So why look for it? He was smooth, the kiss on her hand reminded her of home, of her family, they did things like that, and old fashion you could call it. But in reality it never got old, girls loved it then, and now.

“Quite, I find myself desiring to speak of the sky, but also dread that it would turn into a lecture, perchance a downfall of teaching the delights of the night.” She returned a smile, soft and warm in the cool night. Juniper did not seem to be aware of her own physical attributes, Students where becoming accustomed to her changing her look often, some even thought she was a metamorphamagus with the colors of her hair often changed, but she was just skilled at using potions, and dare it be said, muggle items. Juniper was a firm believer that muggles and wizards could live peacefully, but was aware that it was not something that was done in a moment either.

“I would say they would discharge me first, if that be the case, being as I have escorted students from my house out at night.” She said looking past his face to take in the art of his features and the sky at once, like a painting, she did enjoy arts. “Sometimes it is curiosity that brings them, but I welcome students to be out, but it requires trust and responsibility.” Juniper was different in her ways than many of the older professors, but she felt that if they where going to be out, they best have someone to look after them. She set limitations that where indeed different than that of the school, but she had a little more ground to stand on heading her house, some of her students tried to brag about her lax policy, but they learned that respect was also part of the deal.

"Very much so. And yes, students should be wary - not so trusting, perhaps. Many of them trust with wild abandon, they don't remain aware of their surroundings," Oh, how he spoke like a concerned professor. It was as if Damien were an entirely different person; someone with an impossibly large heart. It was much too easy to play the part, to manipulate. What he spoke against was essentially himself. He was the dark person that should be thoroughly analyzed.

Due to being a professor, he was immediately respected. It was all part of his plan, and yet it was such a shame for those who did not read between the lines. Everyone in the school made it all too easy for him. They fell head over heels, he didn't even have to use force for what he wanted. Damien was a great actor, but if all the lovely ladies had followed their intuition, they may have found the will to steer clear of him.

Though, some people love the dark.
They would be drawn to him regardless.

"That would be thrilling," Damien said in response to a broom ride, "I've actually never flew at night..." It was amazing to him that in all of his many years of living he'd never taken a broom to the night sky. It wasn't very often he came across something he hadn't already experienced. Damien's bright sapphire eyes were alight with interest.

He was forever a contradiction. Such a gentleman he was, yet the complete opposite. He respected girls, yet he took advantage of them. Damien constantly fought with the demon inside of him, it transformed him into something he never was as a human. Sometimes it depended on what he felt for the person, it determined his actions. Damien feeds off of what people give him. If they're nice, he's nice. If they're nasty, then so is he. Of course, there is always exception to a rule.

"You have a beautiful way with words; I doubt anything you speak of would come across as a lecture," he openly complimented her; how he loved to swell a woman's ego. However it was true, the way Juniper spoke made her radiate with a sense of maturity. She wasn't the typical twenty-some year old brat. Damien already decided he could get along with her. "So I can trust you," a tease, accompanied by his infamous smirk. "Though I think escorting is okay, isn't it? I am quite new with teaching here, though..."

He watched her again through his hooded eyes, forever hinting at forbidden possibilities. It was hard to look past her vibrant hair, but he took her in. Damien watched the moonlight basking over her, how he wished he could have every woman. It was greedy yes, but how could he deny beauty? However, even entertaining the idea of messing with a professor would be sure to blow his cover. To try anything extreme with Hogwarts staff he'd have to get to know them - either the right way or the wrong way. The wrong way being, of course, simply gaining knowledge of their magic capabilities.

"Well, I personally think it's great what you do for your students. Teaching astronomy, they have to at least get a glimpse at the night. It's a wonder the lessons aren't at night..." The last bit was an after thought, but he smiled nonetheless.

How much like a child she was, trust may not be the word for her but Juniper believed that everyone deserved a chance. Good was natural, and evil was the temptation. She was very aware of such things, but had never dabbled in dark arts or such unless it was purely knowledge seeking. Juniper was slightly out to make the world a better place, but in her own quiet ways. It was nice to see a professor express their concerns of safety, so many had become accustomed to rules that they had forgotten why they where there in the first place.

In a way Juniper was a neutral party, for each their own. However at the same time she drew concerns for others and understood that it was not a free for all either. A balance, she was aware of.

“I do agree, they are true believers that their magic could fix or solve any problems, I try to teach them that magic is not everything about them.” She said allowing them to use magic, but also requiring them to do something without magic too. “It is a good addition that my class really does not require magic, but it is a wonderful assistant.” She graciously smiled at that, a reason she chose to teach and learn more about astronomy.

Juniper took in his presence, but she was a bit flighty in her expressions and such that one would think she was missing things, but she was ever observant as well. He sparked curiosity in her heart, not knowing much if anything really about him, she did like to hear about his life, and past.

“Yes, I must confess that I do miss a carpet ride despite the fact that they are banned here in England. As a girl a carpet ride over water at night was quite relaxing. A mere sacrifice to spend such days here.” She said recalling her travels to the school and entering London. She would visit home again, and that was one of the first things she would do, she was sure of it. “A broom ride is quite lovely, and you find it rare to meet more then the sounds of the earth around you, brings a particular state of mind into view.” She said looking at him again, her eyes flashed like emeralds looking around and taking in so much more then just the raw physical attributes, not that she could, but one would thing she saw right into the soul.

She smiled, “Thank you. That is very sweet of you to say.” Juniper did not blush, but it was nice to hear a complement from someone other than her family, letters each week were about her work, her students and a consistent reminder to visit home more often. “Yes, I am indeed quite trust worthy.“ she said confirming his statement; she was someone that anyone could turn to, that was for certain.

“Perhaps, the rules are not as transparent as they once were. Old and new ways sometimes contradict each other in some cases, however I have a little leeway being the head of Ravenclaw.” She said not boasting about the position but proud of it, a clear character that she enjoyed success but also knew what came with it.

“Yes, Astronomy allows them to see that we are all part of the same world, and it does not matter where or who you are, we all see the same night sky. As for night classes I have two a term held near midnight to really allow them to understand their lessons. They I must affirm they are the best lessons I have. Some are a bit tired arriving, but few sleep after.” She said enjoying those classes and teaching was very clear. Juniper was clearly a professor that not only loved her work but also loved her students, that is in a way a mother loves a child, unconditional. It was like a life’s work that she would continue and hope to spread. She hoped to have students realize that there was more to life then spells and potions.

Damien was capable of reading people. When the moment was quiet enough, when he had the patience to assess the way they carried themselves; their words, their actions. As he casually studied Juniper - with that impossibly intense gaze, yet it flitted back to the night sky, it held indifference - he gained comprehension of her character. She seemed sweet. Though she was not naive, he could tell the professor was well educated. She had a level-head, though he also felt she might too easily accept someone. This was not a bad thing for Damien - in fact, it worked to his advantage... But for her? The trait wouldn't always benefit her safety.

"Sometimes I prefer to neglect magic entirely, though I too appreciate its benefits," Damien said this with only a hint of a smirk. He loved to rely on his animal instinct, the vampiric part of him rebelled against the added advantage. But Damien was smart, and he knew that his vampire abilities and magical abilities were a deadly combination. He could have the whole world in the palm of his hand if he so chose to. "You picked a perfect course to teach. Defense Against The Dark Arts is entirely made up of magic. All things mythical that are evil - spells and potions to protect against the... Things that go bump in the night," his smile was wild, playful and seductive as he enhanced the last bit of the sentence. How he loved to flaunt his ridiculous humor, spoken so delectably it was hard to concentrate on the words themselves.

His sensuality came full force once he completed the transition. It was a natural attribute of a vampire. They were inhumanly gorgeous, the perfect way to draw in their innocent human prey. Humans were easily captivated by a vampire's looks, their seductive way of being and the sexuality they so easily flaunted. Humans became putty in Damien's hands. It was all natural to him.

"Hmm, I can imagine it would be relaxing, among other things..." there he went again, hinting at a million possibilities while in no way outwardly expressing his true intent. "Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?" he couldn't help himself, but the way she spoke he gathered that England was not her home town. Of course, he could have mistaken her words. He watched the way the light hit her emerald eyes, enhancing the unlikely color. His lips parted. He inhaled her scent; her being... Damien couldn't fight the hunger he felt within him. It hit him suddenly; an urge to sample her unique taste; her blood.

He tried to calm the monster within him, the part of him that died to reach out to her, to hold her and to simply prick her with a razor-sharp fang. Would her blood be as vivid as that eye-catching hair? Damien had been such a gentleman so far, he was capable of stifling his growing hunger.

"You're very welcome, I hope you don't find me too forward. Sometimes I don't hold myself back," he forced a sheepish smile. His words could be sweet and coy; or they could hint at the monster he let loose, that selfishly fed and indulged in whatever seemed fitting. "Head of Ravenclaw?" he allowed a smile in her direction. "Very impressive, so young..." his eyebrows raised, eyes squinted in his typical fashion.

Damien got up as she spoke again, though his eyes never left hers. He left his comfortable perch to pull off his leather jacket. Beneath the shirt was a simple gray, long sleeved shirt. The fabric was rather thin, cleaning to the well-defined muscle in both his arms and abdomen. He turned only to drop his jacket on the chair with her robe, soon sauntering back to her. It was clear that he'd focused on every word she said. He had peeled away his jacket in order to feel the developing cold, he wanted to feel the sensation on his undead skin.

"Fascinating," he said gruffly, as his eyes traced the contours of her neck. But he let his eyes raise to the outdoors. He stood now, one hand caressing the corner of the wall. He stood more on her side, looking down at her now seemingly petite form. The cold helped relieve his mind, it helped him to refocus on other subjects, rather than the way her hair mimicked exquisite blood. "I bet they are the best, there is nothing better than teaching kids to learn by first-hand experience. If it weren't so dangerous, I would love to have my students do more hands on work. Perhaps a field trip into the forest?" he chuckled, signalling that he was joking.

Juniper was the youngest in her family, and sometimes that showed more often then other times, her two brothers where always protecting her, but these days they where a world away, the first Primrose to leave Salem. It was a personal achievement in her mind, but nothing that one really was to brag about. Juniper was a proud person, but not overly o, she was confined in all her work, and in people. That had not caused her much trouble so far, but she was still young.

“Yes, each year I see students with more dependency on their magic.” She also had noticed little shift or even thought about living naturally, instead of this two world system they had going.

She smiled at his statement, “I rather enjoy the things that go bump in the night.” She said allowing that multiple meanings that Damien was hinting at, not so absently either. Juniper had not met too much dark arts face to face, but she was not completely unaware either. “However, perhaps you should consider that sometimes to defeat the dark arts you need less magic and more wit.” She said having her own situations that being able to step away from the magic allowed her to, in a way, trick the opponent. She found Egypt to have some dark corners, much different then the paces that where around these parts.

Juniper did not mind any questions, she was quite an open story, and if you got her talking she loved to talk about her school years, but more about her travels around the world before settling here. “Not at all, I am from Salem, it is in America in the east. Lovely place indeed, hove you any knowledge of it?” she did not want to again, set up a lecture or a lesson of the history of Salem Mass, but she found it quite entertaining, how magic and muggles co-exist in a way. They really thought it was all show for the town, a tourist place, but Juniper knew better.

“It is quite acceptable. One should present their self without prejudice.” She said, a strange way of saying it’s okay, I’m cool but that was how Juniper was. “You do flatter, I graduated school early, so I had a slight advantage. In addition when the position opened up, I should say I was eager to take on the challenge. I was teaching for two years prior, and as unrealistic as it sounds some of my students recommended me.” She said thinking about how in so many careers that a reference was from an elder, but Juniper accepted youth and age the same, but at different stages, all held a great value. “I do think that is what helped to gain the position which I have had for two years now.” She smiled again not trying to boast or anything, but glad of the situation.

Damien had a clear and fit physique that should impress, Juniper wondered about him, he looked young, but something about his presence was different. It was sad to say but she clearly did not see his fascination or perhaps hidden meanings. At times Juniper was not quite aware of the entire situation, she was deeper then just surface, but at times that was all she could see. Tonight seemed to be such a night.

“I have heard they had done such in the past.” She said not letting the idea sound so crazy, “However it never seemed to turn out the way they expected, as well they say it is getting more dangerous, I wonder why so many have flocked to the forest near a school?” she said not really asking the question for a answer, but posing it as it was. It really did not seem like an idea living arrangement for either party, but that was a case that perhaps would not be solved.

With him standing by her, it was like a portrait, as she sat in the window still, her back turned slightly to the opening as she turned to face him, looming but clear it was a moment where she thought about the Quibber, it reminded her of the article she had studied. She almost put herself behind Damien to see the image clearer, her eyes moved slightly thinking about it, the moon light glowing in she still had a mind for the arts having started work with the Quibber, her journalistic career was short, but well it well educated her. The brief moment she smiled but did not say anything to her thoughts on the moment, instead she asked a question of him, “And you? Are from this area yourself?” she asked, a common conversation cliché, returning a question answered to a question asked.

"I see it as well. They think they are invincible, simply with magic... When there are so many other factors..." He trailed off. Thankfully for some of his victims, magic did exist. Personally he hated that it brought them closer to his level; yet it did pose an interesting challenge. A lot of people he'd encountered were too smitten to even care what he was doing to them. Some of them were just as sick as he; they enjoyed it.

He couldn't help the chuckle, the wicked smile that appeared as she entertained his statement about the dark. "Really? I never would have guessed..." Damien allowed himself to look pleased at her statement. Oh, how he could show her how deadly those things were that go bump in the night... He was one of those things after all. His weakness was clearly women; give him a beautiful woman and he was reduced to a baby vamp, a teenage boy. He craved blood desperately, he wanted to charm them into his bed. It wasn't very often he came across a woman who didn't appeal to him. And yet sadly, he'd yet to find true love.

Maybe true love was only meant to happen once in a life time... Though, he would love to even gain a portion of what he'd once had. His moments of pure love had barely lasted, he wished he'd savoured the time...

"Very true, I do try to teach my students to not only use their wands but their heads too. Otherwise, they may be blind-sided by the wit of their enemies..." he smiled, what a smart girl she was. Wouldn't he love to scare her and see if she could back up her intelligence? Yes, yes he would. Pity she was a professor. Students were much easier to frighten.

"Slight knowledge, I do love to travel, but I don't believe I've been there..." he smiled at her, tilting his head ever so slightly. He wouldn't mind hearing about her place of birth, Damien was always open to learning about new things. Living for as long as he had, it was nice to find somebody capable of teaching him something new. He appreciated her kindness, being nice did have it's benefits. But he wasn't about to go all wish-y wash-y. Hell no.

"So you've been teaching for quite awhile now. That's very impressive. Have you always taught astronomy?" Damien was very capable of carrying on a human conversation. He could hold himself back if he put his mind to it. He had been a good person, after all... Once upon a time... "I must admit I'm surprised a reference from students helped you to land a job, but it's a great thing... They should get say too, after all, they were the ones who truly witnessed your teaching capabilities," Damien was in fact, almost impressed with himself. But on the other side of it, he felt disgustingly human.

If he ripped out her pretty little throat, he wouldn't feel so damn human, now, would he?

He took a deep breath. He was going to be good tonight - he was already bad once, after all... He suppressed the smile that came when he remembered the student, blushing and in skimpy silk. Her blood was delicious... Juniper's lack of ability to look beneath the surface certainly helped Damien - if she were more alert in the given moment, she may notice the way he eyed her. There was something very predatory about him... There always was. After all, when animals were immediately next to the species they hunted... It wasn't often they stopped to chat about the weather. Damien was showing immense control, keeping Juniper safe from the danger he brought.

"Oh have they? I am new here and haven't become completely aware of the school's history. It's a wonder they would put their students at risk like that. I hear the forest is quite dangerous," he pretended as if he'd never been there. He'd roamed it a few times... And yes, if he were a student... He wouldn't want to go in there. "You mean so many creatures?" his voice was low, and he pretended to not be delighted by the turn the conversation took. He played with the stone wall, while still letting his gaze flit from her to the stars.

"I know why the creatures would come - there would never be a shortage of prey," he smiled at her, grimly... Though if you looked beneath the feigned distaste, there was a definite delight. "But as to why a school would be so close to a forest? I'm not sure. It's like they want to off their students, I mean it is called the 'Forbidden' Forest... Students like things that are forbidden. Curious little things... And even some professor's like to venture on the wild side..." he smirked down at her, watching the moonlight illuminate her from behind. He wanted to touch her, to caress that blood-red hair.

"Have you ever been to the forest?" he asked out of curiosity, she had said she liked things that go bump in the night. He wanted to know just how much. Damien returned to his seat beside her. He enjoyed Hogwarts open windows. It would be so easy for her to fall... Just a little push, a little instability. Oh, but he would catch her.

"I am from England, yes... Though I haven't returned until recently," he let the air of mystique cling to his statement. How could he make his 300+ years of living sound more like the reality of his 21-27 year old appearance?

It was all seemingly normal, two professors discussing their work. Perhaps getting to know a fellow colleague better, but nothing was ever that simple in the walls of Hogwarts. Whatever the case may be, Juniper liked the conversation, it was rare that someone took the time and just talked. It seemed like a conversation about safety was as simple as one about weather, and Juniper did take note of it, but not looking to deep into it either. She knew that there where things that happened that she could not change, and she also did not have the right to change.

It was interesting they way he reflected on her comment, yes, she did like such tings, and perhaps she was not wise to seek them out on occasion, but that was what life was for, to take chances and to change lives. Damien had a very slight way about him, indeed it made her curious, and the old saying curiosity killed the cat… did not boat well for a woman who was also a cat herself at times, and in magic that was literal.

Her animagus form was little know to much other then the house elf’s, she liked to roam the halls during the early morning, a strange way to understand the students better was to see them thought a very different pair of eyes. That of course, is getting off topic.

“It is quite lovely in Salem, their history deals with magic and a dark time of witch trials where they burned suspected people at the steak for witchcraft. Clearly things have progressed greatly, and now it is a rather quaint tourist spot. What they don’t realize is that many folk who live there really are of magic, I was honored to do the Halloween eve fly over one year.” She smiled remembering the time, it was every teenage dream to do the fly over, which the tourist thought as a great show, and a curious how did they do that? moment but none really knew it was real.

“It is nice to be able to live without lying, granted they all think your just actors.” She added with a slight shrug, “But there is a good give and take.” She added. She could go on about some traditions but she also did not want to speak about everything, and she would. She would eventually bring up her family, her brothers and their practices, and her long family line, but he did not need to hear about that either.

“Yes, I have always been fascinated with the night sky, and its own magic that I couldn’t think of another class I would love to teach as much. I presume a great deal of luck fell into my life to be able to pursue a career that I have.“ She said not having a plan when arriving, but soon falling in love with the area and creating a life around it. “Yes, I think that it showed how much I really care about their quality of learning. And in a school like Hogwarts you become like a family being around each other so much.” She said seemingly not to notice any of his animalistic traits.

“Yes, Hogwarts has come a long way from its raw beginnings. Although some are just rumors to scare the students they have had their dark tales too.“ she said about the schools history, she was always reading more and more, but at times it was hard to see the fiction from the facts.

Juniper looked at him, it was something in the way he talked about the forest, it made her … interested. “Originally it was simply the Dark Forest, forbidden came a bit later.” She said taking in his face as he returned to sit. “I agree that students wonder just because it is forbidden, and well, they feel it can’t be that bad seeing as it is so close to the school.” She added, these days they allowed creatures to attend school, some lived in the forest, that both made her happy and concerned.

“It also acts as a buffer too, magic draws more magic, I wonder how they keep the boundary at times.” She added not seemingly concerned about it, having still not answered his question of if she had been inside.

“Yes. I is only natural that I understand what it is that I must protect my students from.” She stated still looking at him, now taking in some more of this body language, his words washing over her before. “There are so me lovely areas, and some dark ones too.” She said looking at him, not asking if he had entered, she presumed that he had, he seemed to have a presence of knowing what he was speaking about, when it came to dark things. In a way it made perfect sense, being the defense dark arts professor.

“Did some traveling? I traveled around the world after schooling, and settled right here about five years ago.” She did not need to add to her question with her own experiences but she did regardless. It was strange to think that in only 24 years she packed many things into her life, wizard school, muggle school world travel and it all leading it where she was. It was hard to imagine what one could do with more years behind them. In a way she was getting a feel for who he was, but Juniper was not one to make snap judgments, it took time to really know someone.

It was rare to witness Damien indulging in good intention. He typically used people for his own benefit, not to learn more about them. He wasn't particularly thrilled about having a human conversation, but alas he wasn't squirming in his seat. There was something about the peaceful night; crisp and bright, that toned the monster down. Juniper was one of the only professor's he'd actually conversed with. Many of the others weren't talkative - and neither was he.

"Ah yes, I am aware of the basic history of Salem," he smiled, leaning toward her as he listened intently. "The Halloween eve fly?" Damien lifted an elegant brow, confusion devouring his expression - it was something he hadn't heard of. "That's interesting. At least you don't have to completely hide your true self," once he spoke he immediately assessed his own words. It wasn't very often he was allowed to show his true self. When he was a human, he was always told he was too sensitive, too loving, too innocent for a man - he had to hide behind a created persona.

The present was no different, though this time around he had to consistently hide the monster within him. He was never allowed to be Damien, the vampire. He wouldn't be accepted in society. Not with his lifestyle, anyway.

"Yes, you are very lucky... Congratulations on all of your success," he threw in that ever-charming smirk, his playful demeanour. He could make anything exciting if he so chose to. "You must really bond with your students," he smiled now, observing her words - she seemed to care very much about the little tykes. Damien had bonds with his students; of blood and sex. However, there were a few he played nice with.

"I am also lucky to teach what I do - that there even is a course involving the Dark Arts in some way. I must admit, I'm smitten with everything dark, potions, spells, creatures... You name it. I love the unknown; what twisted possibilities there are in this world, and how they even came about in the first place," Damien was being completely honest in his speech, and that was rare - his walls weren't up. He hadn't admitted to anything, therefore he just came off as having a sick obsession. Though was it really sick, or was it natural? He'd met the nicest of humans who had similar interest.

"I need to catch up on my history. Perhaps you should teach that class as well?" It was another compliment, in which he smiled at her in addition. Damien was quite educated in his history, after all, he'd lived it. Sometimes he would play dumb to avoid any extra suspicion.

There was no doubt that his eyes lit up slightly at all of the mention of darkness. After all, it was his area of expertise. Oh, how he'd love to show her his fangs. "It's a shame they take comfort in that, I know plenty of them have ended up killed... The... Residents of the forest most certainly do not like trespassers," he smiled, ever so wickedly, ever so sweetly.

"Now I'm curious," he openly admitted. "What did you find in there, did anything happen to you?" he looked concerned and interested all at once - he should have been professional actor as opposed to professor.

"I've traveled nearly everywhere. Much like you, starting off young. I took a break after school to travel, and then I went job hunting," he tried to make the fabricated version of his life sound realistic. It was so awkward summing up those hundreds of years into a short few. It was amazing that Juniper had packed so much into her short time of living. She could die young and still be considered successful.

He could have smirked.

"I bet you have some amazing stories. You've done so much in such a little amount of time. Do you ever wish to step back and take a breather? Or are you so passionate about teaching that you do not mind?"

Juniper was indeed talkative, and it was a delight to have someone to converse with, that is someone who was not her student. It was a different sort of tone, and Damien did not seem like the type she was used to. Whether he was sincere in his words really did not phase or concern her, it was a good change from the pace of school work.

"Oh, yes each year, as a sort of tourist attraction, they pick one girl to do a fly over across the moon. They think it is some projection or some new technology. However it allows us to show magic, and they are very unaware of it. It is considered an honor to do the fly, like the stories muggles like to tell, it was quite enjoyable.” Juniper really had enjoyed that night, she used a vision enhancing spell to see the people watching, it was great to see their faces light up as a witch flew at night. It really did bring people into the town. Which was good for business, muggle or magic.

“Yes, but most people think we are eccentric actors, so at times it is a little undignified. But you have to take the good and the bad.” She added not wanting to sound to harsh. She loved her town, but magic was still limited to showy things, perhaps that was why she went out and around the world to see what it was really like.

She found it interesting the excitement he held for certain things, but did not question it, she herself had some strange/i] interests. “Thank you, yes I treat them like the adults they will become, or at least I try to, they are much more respectful and work harder too.” She said, however for each respectful student there was also a troublemaker, but Juniper held to her priorities, treat onto one as you should be treated. Something instilled in her blood partially.

Juniper found his interests different then hers in nature, but non the less the same topic. “I enjoy trying to find the route, how things were created. When did it turn dark and what made it so. All magic starts with good intentions… for the most part that is.” She added the last bit, because there was a far share of spells or potions that had nothing but ill intent. But to make them you had to start with good magic. “It is fascinating the development of such spells.” She said, then added “and it is interesting to discover what made a creature turn, or change.” She said not mentioning the research and study she had been doing on creatures or the dark arts. In many cases the creatures started human, so why did they stray so far over the centuries of evolution.

He questioned her about her adventures into the forest; for the most part she went in on a knowledge seeking mission of sorts. “Well during the day it is rather tame.” She started off, “However I did take precautions for my travel at night.” She said having worked so deeply in the subject she had a slight advantage, scientifically speaking. “I did not have anything exciting to tell though, perhaps I took too many precautions.” She smirked slightly, she walked trough that forest to see if her protective charm had worked, and what creatures it would keep away. So far no one had came up to her, and even though she heard movement she was alone the entire time.

“Travel was so educational, I almost applied for wizarding around the world, but it just did not feel right. I think I would need to visit many more places to get a full understanding of the areas around the world.” She had planned on traveling for another year, but fell in love with the atmosphere that England held, a strange sort of ancient magic, different, yet familiar.

“Oh, I wouldn’t think so. Nothing that can compare to just going out there and learning about the world first hand. It is just not the same.” She said looking out again, remembering the fight she got into over a goat in the mountains of Nilkantha, in Pakistan that was funny to think about, but again not a tale that many would understand unless they where there. Juniper had learned to hold back over the years of teaching, but she was easily turned into the classic chatterbox.

“I haven’t really felt like I have done a lot, because there is so much more to do. Push forward each day as you never really know when it all will end, so I like to keep going while I can.” She said sounding a bit dreary but her voice and attitude did not match the words, she was confident dreamy, and quite real. Being in any world magic or not there are things in the world, that perhaps are predetermined, but if they are of not Juniper was sure there was little say when it was all over.

It was interesting to hear how passionate Juniper was about things Damien often ignored. His own passions were pain and pleasure - and first and foremost, blood. He wondered, casually, if she'd be frightened if he expressed his real interests. Or would she be fascinated, as she was with the night sky? It took control to be so near to humans, because they essentially held what vampires needed to survive. He could smell the blood, humans plagued his senses. Every instinct within him told him they were prey; not company.

However, being an older vampire did supply him with a great deal of self-control.

"I see, well, congratulations on getting to do that. You've certainly accomplished a lot in so little time," he said, as he observed her many stories - and he mostly likely had only heard a select few. Juniper seemed so happy, so involved with life. They were almost opposites, and yet they spoke so effortlessly. He chuckled at her next statement. "At least the majority aren't frightened of you - it's better that they think you are an actor rather than crazy," he gave her a small smile, a cute shrug. They would be frightened of him.

"It is best to treat student's like adults... I've never cared for adults not considering the opinions of those younger than them. We were all kids once, too. And sometimes, the teenager's are wiser than those who have lived much longer," Damien wasn't faking his opinion; he had a lot of sense for someone who was borderline psychotic. He'd lived long enough to form very practical opinions.

He nodded at what she said, as it made complete sense. "Doesn't everything start out with innocence?" he suggested, his eyes forever seductive, betraying the innocence he spoke of. "Like murderers, they were once babies - completely pure," Damien added to the conversation, his words also applying to himself. He was once innocent and pure, until she came along and taught him everything dark about the world. She changed him, she killed him... Her death had taught him more than he'd wanted to know about the evil in the world. There was a reason behind his madness; there were many. "I agree that it is fascinating," he smiled softly, though it was weak, tainted with the sadness by thinking of his earlier years.

"Do you mean change or turn as in the process to get them from human to creature, or are you speaking of the change in their humanity? The loss of it?" He would love to explore this topic with her, while never once mentioning that he would know these things from personal experience.

"Well it is most certainly better to be alive than having an exciting story," he smiled at her, so honestly, so fake. Though he wasn't completely sinister, he was happy a gem like her survived. Though genuine caring for humankind just didn't come naturally, he had to force it. Juniper must be a strong witch, he decided. She had to have done something to keep the frightening amount of creatures away.

"I agree," he said in response to travel being educational. It was also very... fulfilling - in the sense of blood and girls. Ladies from around the world could not resist his eternal good looks. "I'm sure you would have done great at it. But I understand why you'd want more knowledge and experience of the world before teaching it," He needed to bite something. The only excitement was their conversations about everything that was dark; it was keeping her safe and keeping him sane.

He smiled wryly at her words. It was easy to forget the fragility of human life when being so strong. But he still understood her words; after all, he'd personally tried to end his life at the age of 21. "At least you have plenty of time to accomplish what you wish to... You can't always worry about the end, just enjoy your life one moment at a time," he smiled softly, so unlike himself. He didn't want to kill her. She touched something within him, the sensitive part that he kept tucked away, hidden behind brick wall after brick wall - shackled.

He needed to go kill somebody.
