Well, Anna had a bit more on her plate then she could handle, at least that was how she felt. She had so many plans for the Yule Ball from hand made decorations to a great band, or perhaps even some sort of DJ, if they could somehow get electronics to work there. Ten people, only ten? She was going to have to delegate more then ever, and they where going tot have to work very hard to get it all done in time. The list posted on the door: Welcome, the Yule Ball Committee is run by Annabelle Grace of Hufflepuff! Here are the leaders for each principle need. They are head of that section so work together and lets make this a night to remember!.
Decorations
Tierney Harper & MacKay Hountly Music
Janet Numan Food selections Professor Primrose Finance Matt Adams Other Fay Migall & Gracie Hunter [/blockquote][/blockquote] OOC: ( Some Names are made up. However You are more then welcome to join and head up a section, I really want things moving so the dance can happen. So a bit of too much of me RPing it out, I guess is going to happen just to move forward a bit. The names are not characters on this site; I made them up to move forward. ) She had the meeting in the dance hall, that way they could start designing right away, there was not time to waste! She had a list write in suggestions from the sign up, that she asked people to write, students who where not even on the committee. Many contradicted themselves. - Be a older dance, no 1st-4th years Vs. All students allowed
- Guests from outside allowed it too Vs. no outsiders too dangerous!
- Get a hot new band Vs. Student bad here in the school
- Finger foods, no dinner Vs Huge feast buffet Vs Sit-down served dinner like a classy restaurant
- NO professors! Vs Staff allowed
“Well looking at this list we don’t have too much to go one, but we are still going to make it work well. Today we need to make the plans for each section, and also start ordering supplies. We have one week, it is cutting it so short but I know it will get done.” She said now looking at them. “I have made some decisions. This will save time and money. I do hope we can all work with what I have planned.” She said feeling strange to be the head of this group. “Food—Professor Primrose has volunteered to work with the house elves to prepare what we will be having. With that said I have chosen a dinner, buffet style because it is simpler and not as much work for the house elves. I have made some selections based on a good variety. Salads, all mixed greens and fruits for the cold foods. Hot foods will include items like Pasta, chicken and fish. Dose anyone have any suggestions they would like to add to that?” Annabelle said waiting. “Before we move on to Janet’s ideas for music I want to stress how important the committee is and in making the night a success. The list I have here will be decided today as well, to get it all done, we need to work fast and together as a team.” Annabelle stated, hoping that their would be some good feedback today.

Janet was not really looking forward to this, and to make things worse she somehow was in charge of music? What was this girl thinking? Janet had talked to her once before, and if was almost like a strange obligation to join her little committee after she felt guilt-ed into it. Quidditch captain should really be involved, we should have some event to go with the game too. Oh how she had thought about it, and looking at the list she felt that Quidditch was far from this perky girls head.
Then to put her on the spot, Janet had nothing prepared, no idea what was going on and least of all had some sort of plan for the music at the dance. She was just there to, well get the credit of helping without really doing anything. Oh, if someone told Anna about her seeing her perform at the Hog’s head a few years back they would be getting something… Janet only used music and singing to lure in her targets, and that was not very often. She only need a cover once in a while.
"Perhaps I could get a music career, apparently I was not that bad when I worked before?” Janet had tossed the idea as suddenly as it showed up. However it did indeed give her more to work with. Once Anna had finally stopped talking Janet had to … talk.
“Well I think a student band would be good. Perhaps even make it a karaoke type event, I mean there will be good and bad, but it will be fun to get everyone involved.” Janet did not even sound like herself, she did not really like the taste of it either, strange really. Too strange, at that moment she wanted to blot out of there and head for the skies with a bludger, she did still enjoy that position.

Juniper had listened to the young girl who had found her reading in her office (juniper like to call her study). One of the house elves had suggested Annabelle to speak with her friendly Astronomy professor, as Juniper was a friend with many of them. That meant a great deal when planning sure a lavish event, working with a familiar face is always quite nice. Juniper could not reject such a sweet invitation either. After all it was her position to work with students and expand their knowledge, not just of the stars either.
Juniper had read the list and did not want to put in input until necessary. Annabelle had made the food decisions and it was Junipers position to be the liaison for the committee. Juniper knew that it would have been more difficult for them if they had not had someone on a speaking basis with the elves.
She listened to her, then another student of hers, Janet Numan spoke next. Juniper liked her idea, but also concerned that would be a bit harder to organize. They would still need a band, and more importantly one that knew many different songs. However not impossible the idea was set for the others to judge. Juniper remembered her school days, teamwork proved most difficult and most rewording as well.
Juniper decided to sit back and just oversee the meeting, as the professor lead in the room she also had a responsibility to keep things together should they start to fall, but with such a short time frame she wondered what would happen. Rise to the occasion or fall under the massive task at hand.

Tierney sat on the floor of the Dance hall, looking over to Annabelle and listening to her speech. She was curled up in jeans and a black turtleneck sweater, antique necklaces draping her neck. As much as she would have liked to say her thoughts were completely on Annabelle, her fingers twisting around her necklaces and the blank look in her eyes proved otherwise.
Half-heartedly she let Annabelle and Janet's words sink in. They sat there in her head, stagnant, while other worries consumed every other brain cell available. She had a little over a week before she went home. There was so much she was going to have to do and so much to do before then too... Like pay more attention to the meeting at hand.
Janet suggested a student band or karaoke. Tierney had to agree that in-house music would be much better than a band from outside the school, if only to reduce worry. No doubt students would still be worried about a repeat of the Midsummer Masquerade.
Tierney spoke up, "I think karaoke or a student band would be fantastic. It'll help invest the students in the event more thoroughly. Also, karaoke could really liven things up. I have a quick question though, did you have a theme in mind for the dance or anything? If not, I think it would be great if we had one, it would really help out the decorating team."
((ooc: urgh, sorry that was awful. I have a 1 year old nephew here distracting me.))

((more then good, Plus I know the feeling, but my nephew is now two and a half, and very funny))
Annabelle smiled delightfully when someone, Tierney, she remembered because it was so different to her, spoke up in agreement. Then a question, how did she not think of that!
“Well My first thought was a black and white ball type theme, but I think we need lots of color and very festive. Perhaps something to do with a favorite Christmas movie or song?” She suggested. She did not want to limit things either like the black and white would.
“I also like the student band idea, and Karaoke would be fun too.” She added, having never preformed herself she thought it would really add to the event. “oh, what is the name of that song…” She said, out loud but really to herself. Humming the words in her head…
‘Rain drops on roses, and whiskers on kittens…’ it was from that musical ‘Sound of Music” she loved to watch during the holiday. Regardless it was lost, and the idea of that for a theme was… well lacking.
“Um, did you have any thoughts?” Annabelle asked soon after. Green and red would look great and splendid, but she did not want to go too over board either. Simplicity was also key to making things look good, Annabelle knew she often went a bit over…

Post by Mathew "Matt" Adams on Dec 17, 2009 12:01:53 GMT -5
Matt was running late. And he hadn't managed to find time to sign up for the Yule Ball comittee with all of his work, and studying to try to catch up. He had found out where the meeting was located, and hope they still needed him. He knew Janet was on the comittee, but he didn't know of anyone else. Matt found the dance hall easily, and opened the large door, cringing slightly when it creaked open. He noticed Janet right away, and a couple other girls. So, he was the only male here. Instinctiely, he flipped his hair, so it covered one eye, and almost half his face.
Matt closed the door, trying not to inturrupt. He was excited to be here, and he was excited to be getting more involved in the school. Maybe it would help him become, more outgoing, and he was looking forward to meeting new people. Matt tried not to cling to Janet, but he stood near her, as he had to be close to someone he knew. "Sorry I'm late. And I also need to appologize for not signing up, I just didn't manage to get enough time." He said, rather quietly.
He was expecting the worst, them saying they didn't need him, or he should leave or something. But he pushed the thoughs from his mind and suddenly stood up straighter, and his hair fell away slightly from his face. "I'm more than glad to help out with anything though." A small smile played across his face. He couldnt' wait to start helping with ideas. It was the Yule Ball, it had to be perfect. And he hadn't ever really been to oen before, he always skipped out early, who wanted to dance with a lycan?

-ooc-not my best but I will keep it moving as best I can-ooc-
Annabelle had a different reaction to a sudden creaking door then many would have. She smiled and looked over. The boy walking in quiet she smiled, waved, “Glad you could make it.” She said as he made her way over to Janet. Annabelle did not care if he had not signed up, rather just glad that they had additional members, the more the better in her opinion…
Time was a hard thing to come by, and Annabelle knew that all too well. She did hope to pull this all off in such a short time. “Well, I am Annabelle, this is Tierney, Professor Primrose, MacKay, Fay, and Gracie.” She said pointing out others in the room (-ooc-I know there is not MacKay, Fay or Gracie but I wanted to make it fuller.-ooc-). Annabelle said glad that she had recalled the names, and from what she could tell no foul faces meant she said them right.
“Professor Primrose and I are heading up food, going with a buffet style, Janet just suggested Karaoke and a student band and we were just about to discuss decorations and a theme. So jump right on in.” Annabelle said too bright and cheerful to be a great leader… then again who knew.

((OOC: I'm going to ask that Annabelle makes and opens the Yule Ball without the committee meetings ending. We'll do things a little out of order, and continue the meetings, but since we're behind schedule, it's necessary that the ball start now. Annabelle, I'm sending you a PM to fill you in! Sorry guys, we'll try starting this a little earlier next time, my fault!))
