--Matt was kind of dreading this, to say the least. He had no when the last time he had been even close to the quidditch pitch, let alone on a broom. Janet had finally convinced him to give it a try. But dogs were meant to stay firmly on the ground. Whoever heard of a dog on a broom anyway? He certainly hadn't. But Janet was his friend. And he needed more excitement in his life. Only got one life, right? Why not live it up.
--He had gotten there before her. Matt had just wanted to check the place out, since it had been a while since he had been here. It was just as enormous as ever. It was strangely eery with no one there. His ears were used to the roar of all the students, cheering on their house. Not that he had usually gone to quidditch matches, but maybe he should start. Especially if Janet was playing. That would be exciting. He never had anyone to cheer for before.
--The cool wind rustled his hair. But the weather did not bother him. Matt was wearing his usual short-sleeved shirt and jeans and tennis shoes. No use wearing his robes today. Especially if Janet expected him to get on a broom and ride. Maybe he should get his hair cut shorter soon. He didn't want his fur getting too long. It was a pain getting thorns and burs out of his hair in his lycan form. He hadn't gone for a run lately. The urge was always there, and quite frankly, he was getting sick of ignoring it.

Janet discovered her love of flying later on, mid life change over I guess. Well Quarter life? However the case may be Janet had grown to love flying, it was so many different things that she could not really define. Free… that was the first and foremost ideal. It was a few days out of the hospital wing, and she had not told Matt about that, not that she could anyway. That sick professor cursed her unable to speak about that night.
Resentment was something Janet could handle, at least for now. After all, she finally got Matt to agree to go flying. She was not going to give that up. She wondered what she would do, after all she was a fast flyer, and had a reputation of taking risks too. That was the fun of it, life and death on her terms. Strange enough it comforted her too…
So she headed down to he pitch, black jeans and a dark violet sweater that she had the sleeves scrunched to be at her elbows. She tied her hair back, but a few front pieces fell down, she as usual did not have any make-up on or as some would say “tried” to look good. She had her broom by her side as she headed up and saw Matt. She smiled.
Anger left her mind at least for a moment as she decided to jump on the broom and dart past Matt, too fast for him to make out her face, but the wind would hit him good. She knew that he would know it was her though, at least she assumed it as she rounded back slowing down t a landing. “Come on, it is not that bad.” She smiled, it was for certain that this was something Janet loved to do, it was different type of feeling she gave, and her fellow quidditch players saw it on occasions, but during a game or practice she was more business.
“So, what do you think?” She said her broom hovering on its own, Janet had done a lot of research on flying and spells associated with it, and she did them so regularly that it felt normal, and not even like using magic, again it was comfortable. “I promise I won’t let you fall.” She said having fell a number of times she learned how to prevent them, and being captain she had a careful eye to see the person who was slipping, and prevented it, sometimes that is…

--Matt was still gazing around the pitch, wondering where Janet was. Maybe she had forgotten or something, he wouldn't blame her. She probably had a lot of other things going on. He surprised himself and shook his head. That sounded like the old Matt, not the new one who was living life with a new outlook, a happy and positive one. The old Matt would certainly not be standing in the quidditch pitch...alone, or standing near one at all. Hell, he probably wouldn't even be at Hogwart's.
--All of a sudden, he saw something, someone, fly past on a broom. Then the wind hit him, and knocked him slightly off balance. Of course he knew who it was, even without seeing the person's face...Janet. A huge grin broke across his features. Then she was hovering before him on her broom. An eyebrow raised. "Are you sure? I'm not meant to fly." He said hesitantly.
--"What do I think? You are by far the craziest person I know. But I kind of admire that. Are you sure this is safe, Janet? How am I even supposed to get on anyway?" He asked curiously, eyeing the broom and how it hovered on its own, and Janet, sitting casually on the broom.
ooc;; definitely not my best. sorry.

Matt looked nervous, Janet had seen her fare share of nervous looking people on the pitch, but they all wanted to fly or try out for the team. Matt was different, she somehow managed to get him out here, and with a broom already hovering and at the ready. “No turning back now.” She smiled, she was enjoying herself, and hoped off her brook with a sort of simple grace that it was looking very easy.
“Well, first I agree.” She said to his statement of being crazy, “And l think you have the legal system on your side too.” She was getting comfortable enough to joke about her craziness too. Wow flying really did make her different. She however did not notice that much. “However, really you can trust me.” She smiled at him, this statement was so out of her world a year ago… my how things have changed…
“Ok, you can’t see it, but they put a cushion charm on the broom, which is cool because it lets you feel like you are sitting on a regular seat. Only it is tilted and kinda moves too, So it is not uncomfortable. And there are these foot pegs for balance, they really don’t do much, but are super helpful at high speeds.” She said with a smile, assuring him she would not make him going too fast on the broom, no matter how much she wanted to speed on by.
“I just hop on the back, like if you were riding a horse bareback.” She said not sure if he had rode a horse or anything, she had in the past, but that was far, far in the past. “Other wise just hold it and swing your leg over.” She said demonstrating the second, first time flyers like to do it this way, so they could get situated, she just liked to jump on and fly quick.
“Have a seat and sit up, how you move the broom affects your flight. Pushing it down will bring you face into the ground, left to the left and so on. To move forward is tricky at first.” She said showing him as she spoke. “Yu want to lean forward but not push down on the broom, try to keep it strait at first anyway.” She said trying to keep it simple as she could so he would not change his mind.
“It is not hard once you get on and try it out.” She said, hoping off her broom. “You think you going to give it a go?” she smiled looking overly excited for it, it was quite obvious that she enjoyed this sport.

--"I guess not." He grimaced. Matt remembered his first flying lesson as a first year, it hadn't gone well. And he had been teased for being scared of flying. He wasn't the only one though. There was another girl who had been scared. But he had tried, and fell off. Then even the girl had laughed at him. Brooms and him didn't get along...at all. No sense telling Janet this, she would make him get on anyway. She would probably just tell him this was a second chance.
--"Oh that's wonderful. I'm riding a broom under the instruction of a crazy woman." Matt said playfully. Okay, he could do this. If he just kept joking about it, it wasn't so bad. He didn't even have to go that high. He could just take a couple laps around the pitch and then he could get off. That was it. He took a deep breath and continued to reassure himself that everything was going to be okay.
--And it had a cusion, maybe it wasn't so bad after all. "What have you gotten me into?" He muttered, then began to eye the broom. He swore it was plotting against him. But that was just silly. He watched carefully as Janet got on gracefully. Of course how he would get on would be nothing like this. Then he looked at Janet while she demonstrated how to use the broom properly. Of course she made it look amazingly easy.
--"Alright. I think I've got it. And you know how much I hate you right now?" Matt said playfully. He kept breathing deeply and swung his leg over and sat up on the broom. "Not so bad. Can I get off now?" He asked grinning. Matt eased himself forward gently and the broom moved forward slightly. Then he leaned back and stopped. "Was that okay?" He asked smiling. Proud of himself for not falling off..yet.

“ Just think how the quidditch team feels with me leading them.” She laughed, they had all gotten over the fact, or did not know her past enough to care anymore. And Janet had made sure that the team and game was first, everything else was just clutter. Then Matt wondered what she had gotten him into? “You’ll thank me later” she said not really sure that he would, she wondered how high she could get him.
He got on, and Janet did not know what he was worried about, “Already willing to give up?” She smiled, Janet may have had her moments but she was serious when it came to flying, and training others too, because as the captain she did learn to take things a lot differently. “How about we get out of the shallow end.” She said thinking of when you were children sitting in the water, not deep enough to really be swimming. The same applied, if your feet touched the ground (or could) you where not flying.
“Go on, lift up a little.” She said hoping on and bring herself up about 4 feet, not too high!. “Come on, I promise not to let you fall.” She said having her wand ready, not that it was different from any other occasion, but this time her wand was ready to stop him falling, instead of making someone fall.

--"Those poor poor sould. Remind me to tell them all how sorry I am." Matt said smirking. He was sure that Janet was a fine captain. And was positive she would lead her team to more than one victory. "Thank you for what? Scaring the lycan out of me?" He joked. Matt didn't expect Janet to laugh at his poor excuse of a joke. He had embraced the broom in a death grip. Of course Janet was right here, and if he stuck his feet out far enough, he could probably touch the ground with his tip-toes.
--"You make giving up sound like a bad thing. And I'm not giving up, I'm stopping." His eyes rolled involuntarily. "Fine, I'll stay on." A sigh escaped his lips. "Actually, Janet, I'm quit content with staying in the kiddie pool." Matt said chuckling. Of course she would make him fly higher and probably have him standing up on the broom by the time she was done with him.
--Matt remembered his flying lessons, which all first years required. And his body lifted up slightly and forward. The broom moved forward slowly and up more. Now he was on his own. His legs would no longer reach the ground. "There. Are you happy?" He asked smiling. "Okay. I trust you." Matt said. The words had gone unspoken for so long, it surprised him, but the words were true. He made a large circle around Janet, grinning proudly at his accomplishment. And the butterflies fluttered in his stomach. "What next?" Matt asked.

Janet could not help but enjoy the situation. Matt was clearly uncomfortable, but Janet was confident that things where going to be fine. “Well I would be quite rich if I could manage that.” She smiled, because lets face it she would not be giving that way for free. Hey, maybe not at first anyway. Perhaps they where both not that great at making jokes, who knows anyway.
“But you haven’t really started yet, besides you can fly way faster then you could ever run. Plus you don’t have to worry about those nasty trees getting in the way either, well unless you want them to.” She said thinking about how she often used the forest as her own little practice course. “You don’t get the full experience.” She stated matter of fact.
“Not yet.” She said making a funny face at him, she was indeed joking, it was fun and different but she liked the feeling, she liked being happy. Then he said that he trusted her, she could not remember anyone saying that to her. She felt strange but glad too. “Woo Hoo.” She said and clapped her hands as he made a large circle. “I like it, how about we get a feel for everything, you look like it is easy going.” She said going up a little higher.
“Try this, it’s a easy one.” she said, Janet knew so many quidditch moves that any player seemed interested enough to watch her, if not ask her about it, however she wanted to go with the real basics, nothing over the top, and no loop de loops either. So she went up a few feet in the air then back down, however she did not stop in-between it was a even flow. This was where a lot of the first time flyers fell off, got scared or even sick. She repeated this for three times getting higher each time and finishing at the same level as Matt.
“Easy, but you gotta keep your head up, and eyes where you are going.” She said trying her very best to go easy on him, but not treat him like a fool either. SHe sure hoped he would enjoy it once he took the chance.

--"Yes you would." Matt was sure he wasn't the only person that wished they could rid themselves of their lycan half. But what would he be without it? Could he even manage? The thoughts briefly scared him. And it wasn't just a half, he was the lycan. He could never just get rid of it, and could barely hide it. It was just part of who he was. Matt would hate to think of what his parents would think. They would be dissapointed that he hated who he was. They always pushed him to be more comfortable with himself and what he was.
--"I'm giving up trying to reason with you, I'm just going to lose." He said shaking his head and grinning widely. Matt also felt like he was whining, and he hated whiners. So he decided to just grow up and do it already. He hated for Janet to think he was a baby. After all, he was a male. And boys do crazy things to impress others, especially pretty women.
--"Will I never be able to please you, wise master?" Matt asked chuckling, while still maintaining balance on the broom. And just as he thought how well he was doing, he moved slightly and the broom curved sharply to the right. He let out a gasp, then quickly righted the broom. "This thing is posessed, and it hates me." He continued in another circle aorund Janet, only he went a little higher, a little faster.
--He took in her advice and thought about it, then watched her go higher and then back down. Matt carefully watched her move, then thought about it, how he should lift up, then push down. Of course his first try was a bit choppy. "Let me try again." This time it was smooth and precise. A huge grin spread across his face. He hadn't felt this...accomplished, this excited in a very very long time.

“I agree with that.” She smiled, Janet was one ho had been on both sides of the game and winning was the place she would be. She was stubborn, sour and direct, but few people got to see the real person under all the layers of hardened shell she created to protect herself.
Janet laughed, “Well, when you fly around the entire castle in under three minutes.” She joked, though she realized she had not tried that herself… something to think about before she was done school for good. It was ending so soon but such a long time coming as well.
“See not difficult at all!” She said twirling up with out looking like she was even trying, Janet had took into consideration that flying was really 90 percent mental ability. However when you start out, you just have to know the basics. “Feeling free yet?” she asked, that was how she felt fling, like no one could touch you, perhaps that was the muggle side of her, flying is such an impossibility, at least not like this; being able to defy gravity…
“How about something a bit more challenging?” she asked but really did not wait for an answer as she shot up into the sky, to high to be seen. She smiled using her magic, (that she had not done in so long because she was afraid to) created a ribbon of vines, going down and around creating a trail. It weaved up and down and Janet was waiting at the other end, without a word.

--Matt was pleased that Janet was smiling more. It suited her. He knew barely anything about what she had said about her past, but he gathered that she hadn't smiled, or had any reason to be happy. Now he would make sure that she did. By helping her, he was helping himself. No one was a monster, everyone could decide who they wanted to be. Her smiles always lit up her face, and made her that much more pretty.
--"No one in their right mind would do that, well, except maybe you. But I think of you as a good kind of crazy." Matt said grinning. Janet was crazy for loving quidditch. The game was dangerous, there was no ammount of money or anything that could get him to play quidditch. Absolutely nothing could get him to play that dammed game. And then here he was on a broom, flying, with Janet, the team captain. Oh how ironic.
--"And I suppose you're going to try that." He raised an eyebrow. "Or have you already?" He continued hesitantly. It certainly wouldn't surprise him. Matt chuckled. "Easy for you! Do you have any idea when the last time I was on a broom? My first year. That was it." He explained. And the lycan in him was dying to leap off and run for cover like a little puppy.
--"I wouldn't exactly say that. But I'm not as...scared." He admitted grinning. Once you got up and got used to everything, flying wasn't that bad. Now he was over coming the bad memories of flying the first time. Almost everything had a bad memory attached to it, or no memory at all. Matt was constantly doing things he would've never done before, and he was loving it.
--Matt watched as Janet shot up into the sky without an answer. Of course he had no choice. He just shook his head smiling. "Sure." He said to himself, knowing Janet couldn't hear. He watched as she created a length of vine and it waved out behind her as she flew aorund. "It's official! You are trying to kill me." He said catching up, flying behind her. "Like this?" He asked as he followed the line of vines.

(ooc- not my best but it has been way to long since I have been on, and really wanted to get back)
In some ways Janet was learning more then she had expected, even if she did not realize it. Perhaps we are all a little crazy sometimes? It just depends on what it is that you are crazy about. Janet loved quidditch and that seemed crazy, so learning to take things as they are was a good thing. She sure was going to miss things like this, what she was going to do once school was officially over for her?
That was not on her mind at the moment, no. Right now she was trying to figure out ways to get Matt up in the air and flying like a pro would. She was so confident that once he got it, he would love it. Then again who wouldn’t? It was nice that he was willing to try, and so ready to listen to her too! She was learning more then she was teaching.
She smirked and did not say anything about the flight in under 3 minutes, she was indeed considering it. But As Janet was she was also thinking of ways to make it harder, by adding obstacles, as if the castle was not enough. She was excited that Matt Followed her up, “see you are going great.” She said slowing up and the vine disappearing. “So what makes you scared of flying? “ she asked, was she now going into psychology? Sure hope not!

-- His thoughts always flickered to questions about who Janet was before, the monster slaying part. Matt was always curious about people's history, who they were before he met them. Janet had never struck him as someone with that sort of violent background. If she was as horrible as she hinted that she was, Matt wondered what had brought her out of it, or how she got things turned around. He was glad for this though, because she was his friend. And Matt needed one.
-- But he never became completely absorbed in his thoughts, for his broom took a lot of handling. Well, it was just typical things everyone has problems with their first few times flying. Leaning too far one way, not enough the other. Falling forward when you stopped, leaning back when you took off. Getting that position just right to take off without giving yourself whiplash. Matt was slowly getting the hang of it though.
-- The vine disappeared, and Matt breathed a silent sigh of relief. "I'm not scared, it just doesn't feel right, like I shouldn't be up here. It's like doing something you know you shouldn't be doing. I guess it's because I'm a lycan or something. Maybe it's because of my first flying lesson." Matt shrugged. There were a lot of things he wished he could totally blame on being a lycan. He knew he should get over a lot of things in his past, but he just couldn't. The memories haunted him. But if Janet could over come hating every sort of creature, he could forget the past and move on into the future.

(ooc. not great, but I am getting back up to par I think)
“It’s alright, I know I guess.” She said not really knowing the feeling exactly but had the idea. She was muggle born so flying on a broom had horrified her in her first year, but my how things had changed…
“Well your first proper flying lesson, because lets face it the school does not to that great of a job at teaching flying, but I did not say that.” She said putting her finger to her lips, like it was a huge secret. First years flying lessons after that it was fend for yourself in a sorts. As Janet felt the school was a great place, but something was indeed missing, after all she remembered the incident with the professor… Her expression changed slightly, but because of that filthy beats magic she was unable to speak about the incident. She would not let it enter into her flying, no this was a nice time.
She did not need to worry herself or Matt for that matter on something she clearly need to solve herself. She fell silent, perhaps the spell or just a change of mind but she decided to fly around Matt. “Okay, if you want to get back to solid ground I won’t be upset.” She said to him with a half smile, she needed to clear her head again, but also do some research before she was no longer a student to tank that evil professor. She should have just killed him, but then she would be locked in askaban, and she knew it. Those locked records of her past would be opened up and it would be a free for all, not on the school, or the professor but on Janet. Life was just getting good.

ooc;; no worries, and i love the new avi and sig btw.
-- Matt kind of felt bad. He knew Janet wanted him to love flying as much as she did. It wasn't that he hated it it just felt...wrong. Maybe it was his bad history, or maybe it was just because it was something new. He didn't really adapt well to change sometimes. Especially when change meant flying. But, he loved adventure, and this certainly classified as one. He nodded in agreement. "No they do not. And I'll be the first one to say it. But don't worry, it will be our little secret." Matt said grinning playfully. "They throw you a broom, and expect you to be great, or know half of what you're supposed to do..." Then he stopped himself. "There I go, off on another rant." He joked, still grinning. He hated when he went off like that. But he didn't have anyone to talk to about it, and when he did talk about it, all the emotions came back to him, it was overwhelming at times. Things always were that were kept bottled up for so long. It was nice to finally get them off his chest, and have someone to listen to him. He was really starting to like Janet a lot, and got quite sad when he thought about her leaving.
-- "Actually, I wouldn't mind flying for a bit longer. I'm just now getting the hang of it." Matt said. He leaned forward slightly, moving a little faster in a circle around Janet, then slowed down next to her. "Watch out. I might just be out-flying you shortly." He joked, chuckling. "How would you feel about that, being bested by a dog on a broom?" He continued, laughing a little more. This was definitely a new time for him, almost like a new life. Matt would've never joked about being a lycan, he barely had even talked about it. "How did you even get interested in Quidditch?" He asked curiously. "Were you like a flying prodigy so they sent you to tryouts?" Matt continued grinning. He was feeling happy, very happy, and playful. Those two emotions hadn't been combined in a very long time, and it felt...nice, to be so carefree and happy. To have nothing to worry about. Things were definitely turning around for him, and he couldn't wait to tell his parents about all the wonderful things happening to him. He knew his parents were worried, and that they would revel in the news that their son was truly happy again.
